Noticed today that my rear undertray has a hole ripped out of it in the middle. I dint run over anything that could have done it. I’m wondering if it where the tray warps and then could have ripped due to that?

Do you think MG would replace it as it’s a known issue?

Some cars have had this issue, it normally gets remedied with a bracket, but you’ll be looking at a replacement part I’d imagine. Let us know what MG ended up doing.

Try ebay uk, a quick look putting in MG4 undertray , and right at the bottom there might be what you want. 80 quid ish. ( ev bodyparts )
Thanks I’ve had a look at the ones at £80 so will do that if I get no joy.

I wondered how the back tray would break in the middle but no damage to the front trays and could understand it till I saw the pictures of the warped trays. Then it made complete sense!!

To me I agree that the hole looks 'ripped' or 'torn' - rather than just sagging or worn. I don't see how that could have happened without physical involvement - including water as @siteguru proffered.

Either that, or some animal crawled under and chewed it off.

Either way, I'd be surprised if it gets classed as a 'known issue', but no harm in asking.

That's always been part of the issue with the warped trays though. That the sagging front of the tray was liable to get caught on something and ripped. Someone earlier posted about one that had torn going through water and a piece of the tray damaged a wheel arch.

MG launched a campaign regarding the bulging plastic cover.
I noticed the problem on my MG4 and did a DIY fix using a metal plate and silicone.

Mine is scheduled in with MG on Monday to have the supporting bracket fitted to fix this issue. It is done free of charge. I raised it in my first service.

I wanted to get this done to avoid what looks to be the issue above where the low hanging tray has caught on something.
