I've used the search function and learned a lot but nothing to help me identify if there's an easy way to identify the state of the battery without recourse to plugging in hardware (I don't have and dealer might not allow but not asked yet) and also to find out if the car has had the Tesla software instal?

The car is a pre facelift 2022 LR (I'm taking his description at word but it does have the black square in front grill... learned from this forum), with 24k miles.

It drives great (present car is 2021 Leaf) and there is nothing glaringly obviously bad. Though I do find it odd that the steering wheel leather is rubbed like it has done 500k miles (no other wear on the car interior to indicate anything other than 24k) but I do wonder if the previous owner scrubbed it to take off the greasy shine and give more grip!

Look forward to owning it (or another if this gets passed over) and browsing the forum.

The dealer should be able to check in under a minute if the Tesla update has been applied, although a number of dealers are oblivious as to what this actually is.

You can ask them to check that the EVCC module is up to date - that's the module that needs updating to be compatible with Tesla chargers. I would ask for a printout showing the module is up to date as a condition of sale to make sure it's done.

The below is from my car showing the module requiring the update:

If the dealer is willing to charge it to 100% then set driving mode to normal and reset the accumulated trip meter. Look at the GOM. If the state of health was 100 percent it will read 250 miles. Anything less, and to be expected, use that figure as a percentage of 250. i.e. if it reads 225 then 225/250 times 100 equals 90 percent state of health.
Simple and easy way without tech.

Thanks folks, we bought it yesterday.

When I spoke to my insurer for a quote, they said 61kWh. Oddly it is £50 less than our previous 39kWh 21 plate Leaf... would have thought the MG would be more expensive (newer, Chinese and larger battery etc).

The garage weren't a big dealership (2 man operation), so the Tesla thing is on the back burner for now.
