Very confused about the mls/kWh readings. Sometimes when I start the car it can start as low as 1.8 and slowly increase as the journey proceeds. However the predicted range doesn't seem to increase at all relative to the reading. The car reviews would suggest it should be around 4. I understand that it will vary with whatever else is switched on, AC/radio etc, but by that much?

Welcome to winter. I too have noticed a significant drop in miles per kWh, now that we have had a few cold snaps overnight (frost conditions)

Things will improve with the coming of warmer/spring weather. (mind you, could get worse if we get some snowy weather .....)

If your “intelligent” battery heating is on, consumption will be higher at the start of every journey. If you do short journeys heating the battery isn’t worth it, you’ll spend more energy heating it than you lose by not heating it.
Agreed. And it tends to be on by default, unless you've already turned it off yourself. You'll find the option under the Energy Consumption tab of the Battery tile. Tap on the Cog symbol and it's in there. :)

I’m not sure what you’re asking here, of course it starts off low in winter, you’re smashing 5-7kW through the heater to warm the car plus the energy in the motor. As the car warms its interior up, the energy to move the car is the main contributor so the miles per kWh then increase.

👍 not sure I've ever had 4 in the 18 months I've had the car. Remember seeing 3.8 .
I saw over 5 a few times in the summer on my 16 mile trip back from work (part motorway), this trip is no more now I've retired.

At this time of year it seems to be mid threes at best.

My experience is that the best ever was 4.2m/Kwh in the summer '24. Car in standard trim with aerocover wheel trims.
Lately, well the last month or so, its 2 point something in the cold around town, and I did a 100 mile round trip a couple of days ago and it was 3.2m/Kwh. That's heated seats to start with, heating at 22C with A/C, and a rear window / mirrors demist, and running in Eco mode. It was a mixture of single carriageway roads and motorway.
My removal of the aerotrims and adding mud flaps has destroyed all the aerodynamics, so I count my self lucky to get over 3m/Kwh at this time of year. ;)

When a trip first starts, the initial acceleration takes a lot of energy, it's a heavy car! So the first mls/kWh is high.
Normal running uses much less energy, so the mls/kWh will slowly drop.
