Terrible colour, does nothing to help the looks of that carAvailable in any colour you want, as long as it's mauve!
Not really, it's an improvement since car will be lighter and will give more range per Kw:Reduced battery size (relative to the current model) is a retrograde step. Probably won't be coming here though?

"These provide CLTC-rated driving ranges of 437 km and 530 km, respectively."
The range figures are higher that the existing models and as said before, more kms per Kw, so an improvement in existing the MG4 SE plus better interiors, choice of screen size etc. Can't stop progress.CLTC - favouring city driving, where lightness matters, and why the figures are always higher than for WLTP figures, which reflect mixed driving. So, as a city car it would be competing with offerings from Renault, Stellantis etc. in Europe. Given its looks, I wouldn't be betting on its success over here.
No doubt the interior and software are greatly improved, and very welcome, but the a couple of fundamentals put me off - the likely reduced range and (for me) much inferior looks. And appearance was one of the main reasons I was nearly an early adopter. The range figures are higher that the existing models and as said before, more kms per Kw, so an improvement in existing the MG4 SE plus better interiors, choice of screen size etc. Can't stop progress.
It's going to replace all versions that use the 51kWh battery packs here in Australia, and they're dropping the 777 kWh ER from the range. The Trophy (essence) and Xpower stay and will stay with the current model.Probably won't be coming here though?

There have been some rumours about the ER being discontinued in the UK (someone mentioned their dealer said it on the forum here somewhere) so it's not that unlikely they'll do to the UK line up what they've announced they'll be doing here.

Is it white? Or is it just the lighting?
Barely. The existing 51 and 64 models are 425 and 520 on the CLTC. *The range has increased.
sure but it isn't 'less' range as the other guy insisted.Barely. The existing 51 and 64 models are 425 and 520 on the CLTC. *
* At least, according to Wiki.MG4 EV - Wikipedia
Do we know that the ER has a different chemistry battery? I thought I read somewhere (but can't find it now) that both the LR and ER both use NMC 523 from CATL?On the one hand it's a pity the ER may be discontinued, but I have to say I prefer the low-Nickel aspect of the NMC batteries in the lesser-range variants anyway.

If they are different, I'm interested why you prefer NMC523 - presumably from a safety / thermal runaway point of view. From an eco & human/child production point of view, the lesser cobalt in the higher nickel chemistries (622 or 811) is presumably a bonus, or have I missed something?![]()
