All-new MG4 enters mass production in China, official debut set for August

From what I can now tell, the "new MG4" that people thought was the replacement for the current MG4 is in fact the cut-price FWD torsion-bar suspension version that will be called something else here, perhaps MG2(?) to differentiate it from the current MG4, as it has a new look. It has a much bigger rear boot and more rear space than the current car due to these changes.

As the video above says, this a competitor for the VW ID2. The confusion arose because the new car is being called MG4 in China and the current car is called the MG Mulan.

A new grown-up MG4 will arrive sometime next year.

Edit: apologies @siteguru, I was having computer problems.

It is also worth saying that we are unlikely to get the Oppo instant live phone mirroring tech in the uk. It would require support from Apple and Samsung / other makers and competes against CarPlay/Android Auto. It also let's you use your phone for watching videos or texting or other distractions that are likely to be frowned upon.

That's a shame because I think this is a far better way to integrate a phone into a car.
