Surely you'd pay more by having to drive around potholes. Around here at the moment there are multiple road closures resulting in some quite long diversions, another reason for rebate?I'd be intrigued if by paying per mile, you'd get a discount when driving on poor condition roads?
Which is fine if they were getting rid of road tax but this is on top of itIt'll be easy for cars over 3 years old - they already have their milage recorded at the annual MOT.
Anyway it's in no way a 'tax on EV drivers'. It's just an alternative (and imo fairer) version of road tax.
