Questions on fitting new headlight bulbs ....

Technically yes, but mot testers are not allowed to dismantle anything to look and as the bulb type can not be visually seen through the headlight unit in the case of our cars, as long as the beam pattern is correct, they'll be oblivious to what bulb type you have in there. ;)
To be totally honest, the MOT person will only be making a check for the alignment of the head lights and as long as this looks okay, he / she will not be that interested that much in light pattern produced by the lamps.
The life span of lamps that run this hot, is likely not to make it to the first MOT anyway.
It's the pay off for improved performance I guess.
If you drive a lot at night, this is a small price to pay for the improved lighting power.
Like they say :- "You Get Out, For Now't" folks.

The two year warranty for the LEDs, compared to 6 months warranty for Osram nightbreakers, means we'll only be changing them once before the MOT and the Nighbreaker fans could be changing them 4 or 5 times.
