So, spring has arrived (for a few days at least). Took a short trip yesterday, and miles /Khw went as high as 5.3 Not seen that before (only had the car since mid October. Just goes to show what a bit of warm weather (16C) can do. Roll on summer.

Looking back I think it is probably best to start the EV journey in winter, as then you have to manage and learn how often to charge and how to maximise the range, and it then becomes much easier when it warms up.

I started my MG4 and EV journey 3 years ago last November and haven't regretted going EV.

The difference is massive - We had around 20 degrees today and in the city I easily drove it below 16kwh/100km (with after market not efficient wheels).

The weather does amazing things; less aero drag, no heating, less capacity loss due to temparature (especially on lfp cars). AC draws a lot less power in the summer compared to heating.

I'd say ~22-25°C is the ideal temp for rangemaxxing. Cold enough to still be bearable without AC and hot enough for low density air doing its magic.

At those temps, below 100Wh/km is easily achievable outside of city speeds.
