Rear screen washer failure.

Well mine came off last night and the plan was to not use it and fix it the weekend.
Today at work the car wouldn't shutdown completely, radio and drl still on.
Turning back on i get hv fault message and car won't drive, I've looked on these forums and it appears the fluid gets into a connector that sits at the bottom of the drivers door pillar.
Im at work and stripped it apart hoping it will dry out, as the forest attempt failed.
I was going to do a repair myself with some spring clips that I’ve ordered but I’m thinking of going down the warranty route so they can’t say that my repair as caused any potential bigger problems.

I cleaned it the connector with ipa but still no joy, 1 hour battery disconnected at the same time so no juice going through.
No joy so called AA, did a few checked but said car wouldn't communicate, even though car scanner did, then he said he reckons it's the abs pump
Either way it's road to listers mg Solihull and a courtesy car is on its way.
tbf the aa guy said t the quicker he can get it back to listers then the they can look at it.
Got the courtesy car for 4 days so fingers crossed.

Did they say it was linked to the water from the washers pipe failing.

No but I said I'd taken off the trim to save him time if he was going to look😇
Tbh it was bone dry underneath the carpet.
But by God the trim clips that you have to push the trim back into are evil, so I left it lol

I have two MG5'S. The SR had the pipe done when it was in for a service a few years back. The LR that I bought in April had a list of things I wanted checked before I collected it. The Supercharger update and the rear washer pipe. I have used Superchargers without a problem but today I heard water running behind the door pillar. So that hadn't been done. Waiting for a call back so I don't know whether to take the trim off or see if they call me tomorrow about getting it in.

My 72FL trophy has this problem. Bought 3 months ago from a dealer. Like above trying to decide whether I should spend 10mins at the weekend sorting it myself, and potentially negating any claim I have if the electrics later play up, or spend a few hours of hassle with the dealer...

If it was me, I'd get the dealer to look at it. Mainly because of the possibility that the electrics underneath the join have been affected. It will be easier to make the subsequent warrantee claim if the dealer had done the pipe fix.
That said, it's easy for me, I'm retired and have time to pester the dealer.

Just been told by MG Dealers in leeds to leave the issue for them to sort out under warranty and not to have a go at a repair myself so it’s booked in 3 weeks time

I was messaged to say it's only a small job and I am popping in on the way home this afternoon

Well i'm still waiting after 2 days for the dealer to look at my car, he's calling me tomorrow, so i'll call first as they were looking at it today so they should have answers.
Just in time for a motherload of snow :(

So they did the washer fix in about 20 minutes.
I got home and can't turn off the car just goes between ready green light with HV shut off and orange standby light. I have even tried 10 minutes with the 12v disconnected. Just waiting for the AA now.

Did you notice what they used cable ties or clips to secure the water pipe? Just curious to see what they’ll use on mine for a repair.

Mines in the dealers with the same symptom, the day after my rear washer leaked from by the drivers pillar.
I should know the outcome tomorrow, I'll ask what fixed it from not turning off.

Please let me know the outcome.
I got mine to work by plugging in EVSE and got to work fine this morning but now it won't turn off again.

Service guy was being a bit coy when i asked, but i have the receipt as such.
Carried out complimentary health check.
Carried out investigation into burst waster pipe and no drive.
Charged 12v battery (AA guy put on report as flat - it was 11.9v when it left me)
Replaced broken water clip
Tested okay.

I'm guessing the can do a reset that the AA guy couldn't or wouldn't as he knew it needed fixing.

Interestingly, Jaguar Stratford Road Solihull, is now Listers MG.

Mine went on the back if an AA truck to MG this morning, let's see what they tell me next week

Mine came off last week. Water pouring into the drivers side. MG told me 3 weeks. So I decided to do it myself. 30 mins I was back up and running. I have photos if anyone wants them. I didnt use any sort of clip or cable tie when i put it back together. The reason being is there is another joint in the roof and i didnt want the pressure to break there, and end up with a wet stained roof.

The problem with mine was it affected the electrics and the car wouldn't shut off.
But the photos will help others no doubt.
