Just wondering have any of you clever nerds have worked out how to connect their Dash cam to the inbuilt info screen on the MG4
The Dash cam does not have its own screen you connect it to your mobile phone by wifi and it's Halo App but it would be brilliant if you could connect it to the larger screen

After-market reversing cameras seem to be able to interface with the car display, so this suggests that there must be a way.

Perhaps you could side load the app (but I don't know how to do this) and use the wifi connection from the car to connect to the dashcam.

I had a short look for threads talking about side loading apps, but couldn't find anything useful. Maybe a more knowledgeable person will come along and enlighten us.

My 2p worth - is it possible to connect the car to the cam wifi? I could try with mine - S6 to generic dashcam with it's own wifi - but I'd still need to find a way to get the app on the car - and the thread above gave me a nerdgasm related headache.

The ones I have seen, do it by switching the video signal that connects to the display panel via a little box of electronics. So when in reverse, the video feed comes from the camera, otherwise the video comes from the cars normal output.

The cable has 4 cores and could be a digital signal (e.g. hdmi), but also could be analogue video. If it is analogue, it's just possible there are generic video switches (electronic or physical) which could have the appropriate connectors .
