Hi can I put roof rack on my mg4 ev it is purely for my fishing rods

Interestingly, we've just had a recent discussion on roof racks here, I'd think you'll be OK to carry a few fishing rods.

I think an MG Dealer will probably say that MG don't supply a roof rack, so it's not OK to fit one.

It won't be illegal, just not recommended.

This is my car in the post.
I have carried up to 50kg with no issues. Technically the only thing you may want to worry about is whether you insurance allows it as the car is not rated in the uk for roof bars.
That aside I would have no concerns about carrying fish rods.

If your insurance company confirm no issue with fitting one then you're good to go. If they don't then it's your decision. Either way you'd need to inform them of the modification.

Sure, I've used the roof rack from Thule to carry surf boards, skibox, etc.
