The SE 1100R38 Infotainment Thread

Bear in mind the software numbering is different between Australia and Britain though.

I still have HVAC issues even after if was supposed to be fixed last service. If the AC is turned on the air always blows cold even if the temperature is set high, so I never use it except in hot weather. The temperature setting still seems to have a bit of an offset, though not as much as before. And the car still won't pre-heat if it's plugged in and not charging.

I have to go to a new dealer for the 3-year service because I had a terminal row with my original dealer a year ago. What should I tell the new guy?

sure, but i've been running the euro versions of the FICM software since day 1 with no issues

"Please make sure any HVAC software updates that are available in SIPS for my car are applied, and provide me with a screenshot to confirm it"? then just install the latest FICM software via USB

I installed 1100R45 myself, but I don't really see anything obviously different vs R38, which is why I didn't start a thread about it. At 2nd service my dealer applied R38 (and the HVAC update) without being prompted, hence this thread.

@Rolfe .. I'd complain about the HVAC not working properly; target temperature has to be set way higher than reasonable, and that even then it still tends to blow cold air. That should prompt them to take a look, maybe raising a SNOW case with MG about it. (Bear in mind that they're unlikely to simply apply software updates unless they know someone's going to pay for it).

Tried that myself today at 3rd year service… advice I was given at collection was not to use the auto mode… useless advice - rather than apply an update to address the issue, I get told not to use a feature of the car 🤷🏻‍♂️🙄

When I dropped the car off I said I think there's an HVAC software update available, and an infotainment update to R45, and indeed R45 has been installed, and the paperwork says they also did the HVAC update, all FOC while they had the car in for annual service. Bath MG doing well by me.

The not so good news was that both rear tyres needed replacing as they'd got damaged down to the cords by something or other we've driven over - MOT fail 😵‍💫

you're lucky, i think it's rare to find a competent dealer these days, and to be fair SIPS is a heap of steaming poop. interested to know if your HVAC experience is improved, mine is significantly better and best of all if i leave it on auto all the time it stays in recirculate mode between starts for me.
