Arh ………. Well, we will not be having one of them at that price !.
How do they justify that, for what is effectively a type 2 plug, some electronics and a three pin socket outlet ???.
Some profiteering going on THERE !.

There's not even any electronics inside it, just one single 420 ohm resistor to identify it as a V2L lead so the car can recognise what type of lead is plugged in.

Mine is on the way from e-bay. Did you have to change the internal resistor?

Yes. The internal resistor is across the wrong pins, and is the wrong resistance. I put 440 ohm in and works great. Tested with a 2kW heater.

Thanks - in anticipation, my 470 ohm resistors are on the way, too. So what pins are connected by the wrong resistor and how did you identify the right ones?

Doh! Of course, the male is in the car and the female is on the cable, which is counter-intuitive to normal male / female connectors.
