VIBRATION ISSUE - hot off the press!

Pumping up the tyres helps transfer the vibration to the road, imagine a steel wheel on a pure flat surface and an unbalanced brake rotor, vs a soft tyre. Rather than vibes going up, tis vibes going down. I'm keen to take a rotor off and have it balance checked. Mainly due to the tyre pressure finding. Indicates its very close to the tyre vs drive shafts. But there's still something that puzzles me, eco mode is easily 80% less vibration. But this could simply be disengaging the motor, and being decoupled from the vibration source, as the vibration is still there in eco, unless mg speed matches the front motor ? Maybe its nothing more than power cut in diff modes and motor is still spinning.

I think he's on something rather than onto something :)
The callipers weigh nothing when compared to all the other mass in the suspension, driveshafts, motors etc.

As mentioned above, whipping them off is a simple test.

First, a little recap.

I got my Xpower in October 2023. Reported the vibration immediately. My dealership agreed there was a problem and put in a technical report to MG.

Subsequently have trialled a steering wheel damper (failed).
Wheels realigned and rebalanced (failed).
Wheels COMPLETELY REPLACED with non-vibrating wheels from a Trophy (failed).

News just in from the dealership.

MG have responded to say:

  • THEY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE!
  • THEY KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS.
  • But THEY WON'T SAY WHAT THE ISSUE IS.
  • However THEY ARE WORKING ON A FIX.
I had the vibration issue at 70mph yesterday for the first time. I've had the car 6months. I changed the KERS to adaptive and found that it cut it instantly.

Ive been running on Auto regen for the past few weeks, it has been smoother but I attributed that to higher tyre pressure. I have found Auto regen definitely is more efficient, for start/stop plus highway driving. Not sure why it isn't set as default.
