My new MG4 SE LR does not have a waterproof plug cover. In the users manual this is repeatedly referred to as a safety feature. My MG dealer sales person states it is not standard and not provided on an MG4 which (as a safety feature) feels counter intuitive. Can anyone give me definitive answer whether this was a manufacturing oversight or, if not, why? Many thanks, Craig

I am so grateful for two fast and helpful responses that have put my mind at rest. Perhaps the manual should be updated accordingly.

It's not needed - the outer flap has a gasket for waterproofing and should only be open while the upper part of the socket has a plug in it.
The lower 2 pins have a cover because they're not used when AC charging.

No problem. It is frustrating when you've spent all that money and feel you've been stiffed!

All sounds normal. Great choice of car, enjoy it!
