Wish list of MG4 improvements

1. Wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto
2. Buttons and Dials for volume and climate
3. A Custom shortcut you setup for all driver aids on /off options and then just turn it on each startup with a swipe down and one press, so that all options are set as you want.
4. OPD on all models
5. Rear Armrest with cupholders on Trophy models

I miss that tinny little thingies... in/out temperature is not showing on any displays, software 'forgetting' drive mode and regenerate settings last used, occasionally 'infotainment' resets, an after that happens total drive infos, like hours driven, average kW/km, average sped are gone. And in my case, twice already car was gone 5000km from home

I'm happy with this car, but the software

... I would rate it 3/10.

SAIC should do better.

SAIC should do better.

The software resetting the drive mode and regeneration settings is by design. Whether or not that design is good is a different conversation, but it’s not indicative of anything being wrong with your particular car.

More control over things like the aircon and rear window/wing mirror heating settings in the app. The ability to change the charge current limit in app

X power versions need better sport seats ..
X power needs better chassis/ suspension set up and design ..
X power needs better stock tyres ..
Wireless apple car play / android auto ..
Rear air vents for rear passengers ..
Electric seats both front ( not driver only )
front park sensors not just camera ..
sentry mode ( kinda stupid now that you have 360 camera but nothing records )
drift mode and maybe at a stretch the simulated type gearbox like the IONIC 5N
Alot of these options could be addons at a price ..
At 65kaud for a MG4 X Power with all these options would be a great buy and they dont really need to increase the KW really or add 370kw and the bigger 77kw battery ..

If you leave the factory tyres on, you'll soon discover "double-secret drift mode" as the back end of the car passes you on a roundabout.

Retain driver settings when exiting car

Back passenger light.

sort out the radio on off. I have resorted USB stick.
sort out the DAB on the radio.

Option to turn off lights when stationary.

Software update cured the radio problem

To meet countries safely ratings all the driver assists have to be on by default ..

So saved setting is not going to happen sadly..

A one button turn off would be better ..

Problems is with all these driver assists bells and whistles is the systems are just not implemented well enough..

When they work correctly they should only annoy you when absolutely necessary..

LKA on the mg4 is really bad even after updates ..

Drove a 2024 Corolla hybrid while my car was in panel shop for about a week all of once did the LKA gently pull me back into the lane !!

The X power drags angry even when in the lane and sometimes does nothing when drifting out of the lane ..

The automated braking just decided the other day to slam on everything for basically no reason..

Yet what’s even more amusing is at other times the automated braking does absolutely nothing when without me paying attention I would have easily ran up the back of another car !!

So like I said when the these systems work correctly there is no need to turn them off ..

Guess my only other issue is the wifi connection between my X power and I phone is bad!

sometimes I get into the car and it connects fine other times I have to go though the hassle of setting it back up again

Its annoying to say the least when cars over 10 years ago ( such as my 2012 Volvo s60 t6 )
Could do this simple function like 100 times better with out the constant disconnection!

Ohh yeah I’ve had the drift effect in the wet with stock rubber..

Fun yet un nerving when you 4 wheel drift across 2 lanes ..

Hence why I changed to pilot sport 5s as soon as I chewed the stock rubber out!!

I never knew a rear light was such a big deal until getting this car. I would not have even noticed there isn't one back there if people on here didn't keep mentioning it! I couldn't even tell you if my previous car had one or not.

I really didn't notice how dark it was inside the MG4, until I had the passenger side back door open and the drivers side rear door on my '06 Prius, the Prius actually lit up the inside of the MG4, to the point, when I shut the Prius door, I realised I couldn't see what was on the seat or the floor of the MG4 and went to get torch because I'd lock the Prius and didn't have the fob with me.

It would be near impossible to find anything in the back on a country road without streetlights to at least light the area up a bit.

Going to investigate retro fitting door light switches and a central rear seat light, as well as one for the rear hatch ...... using a torch to find stuff is kinda embarrassing in a new car ......

Yep, doesn't bother me personally. But to some, it really does. Each to their own.

I don't often carry passengers in the back but when I do, I use the Tesla - they can at least see the seat belts...

I replaced the crappy incandescent bulbs in the front overhead lights with LEDs. Huge difference. Cheap as.
I can find the Amazon link if you like.
I've also considered getting a "button" USB-A LED to pop in the USB port at the back of the centre console by the rear passengers.
They're touch switched.
Thing is, I really don't need the extra light now I've upgraded the front ones.
Still, I might get a couple just, coz...

I would prefer the regen and drive mode buttons to be on flappy paddles so you can go up/down rather than sequentially scrolling through unwanted choices.
