The Eddi was set to be the master, but Duward (my installer) said that was just because it was inside the house so I didn't have to go out to the garage if anything needed to be done to the master. I was wondering whether setting the Zappi as the master would help.
Things have developed a bit more and I'm still baffled. This morning I discovered some kind neighbour had shut the garage door, but presumably after the car had finished charging as the app read "EV is full". The issue was still present.
It's a double garage with two doors. If the door nearest the house was open, the Zappi connected and behaved normally. Shut that door and "Master Lost". The other door, the one the car is behind, made no difference. Opening it didn't clear the problem.
I picked up an email from Duward in which he suggested logging out of the MyEnergi app and logging back in. I thought this was nuts because how could that cure a signal strength issue? But I did it and what do you know? The problem went away. Immediately.
I'm still sceptical, for obvious reasons, but so far so good. I'll have to charge again tonight because I have to take the car to Galashiels (70 mile round trip) for its service tomorrow, following a 60-mile trip to the dentist this evening. So if it starts playing silly buggers again, Duward is going to get another email.
Hard to guess how far the Eddi is from the Zappi as the former is in the fuse cupboard in the house and the latter in the garage, on the outside wall. Forty feet maybe? Fifty?
