Zappi says "Master Lost"

It all sounds very similar to what my sister went through a couple of weeks ago with a different make of charger. The installer came back, tried everything he could on the controls, then cut his losses and hardwired a connection via the outside of the house. He was done in no time and the problems were gone. I hope your fix goes that well.

If you look at my Ohme charger on the wall behind my Berlingo you can see the wiring to it. The main power cable goes underground and was installed to suit my previous Rolec charger which worked fine with an over the air signal.
When they fitted the Ohme it was recommended to hard wire a signal wire to it. If you zoom in you can see it had to be tacked retrospectively along the wall.

I'm googling wifi extenders right now, I think I have the same problem, and neither my charger or inverter have a cat5 socket. the charger is just the other side of a brick wall between my office and garage. I assume it's single brick, so not hard to drill a hole through for a cat 5 cable to plug an extender into. or a wifi input in the ceiling could also work.

Got to be. But it's extremely weird. That door isn't between the Zappi and either the router or the Eddi.

I hope my helpful neighbour doesn't close it before the car's done charging.
Maybe a bounced signal, reflecting back off the door?

If you have an old router around, look to see if you can change it to an access point. Still need to run a cat5e (or better) cable to it.

My Rolec charger worked flawlessly for about a year and the started acting up. It wuld charge today but not tomorrow but without any reason. It finally transpired the communication circuit board inside it had burnt out. Worked fine again once it was replaced.

I was thinking something like that. Odd it only started now, nearly two years after the system was installed.
If you have neighbours with WiFi within range of your house, and your system was marginal before, it would only take a small change on their system to affect yours.

Unfortunately, modern WiFi devices change which channels they're transmitting on, on a regular basis, so these problems can come and go near the limits of your WiFi.

It's all working perfectly again, so it's hard to do any diagnostics. Duward thinks the car being right in front of the Zappi might be a factor, but I can't figure out if moving the car on to the drive fixes it until it actually goes wrong again.

He says he's working on a solution and will get back to me early next week. So we'll see what he comes up with. I'm just so relieved it isn't the car.

I've been doing a bit of research and it seems a "mesh wifi" system is the way to go.
Instead of using extenders, that require a different log in, a mesh system can distribute good wifi every where with the same log in.
It does look a little complicated to set up though, I've asked the local sparky if he can help, but if I don't get a reply by next week, I'll probably bite the bullet and have a go myself.

Mesh ? Internet ? — fishy 🤭
