Hi
The iSmart app stopped working. After several re installation of the app, no luck connecting my phone to my EV MG Trophy. I cannot even log into my account, the issue starting at the very first step, when asking to sellect the Country Code - by dropping the arrow - but this not functioning. The moment I click on the country code button, "Service is not availble" message comes up at all the times. I cannot even start to log in.

I've looked at on the app forum, it appears since the new version app , many having the same issue, not being able to select the country code when trying to log in.
Could anyone solve this mystery?
Thank you for any tips.

Have you accepted the new terms and conditions via the tick box at the bottom of the page? It may be hidden if you have an iPhone. Have you tried using a different device - tablet/phone?

I got the update as well but didn't have to login again. Haven't seen anything significant yet. The changelog says that there is some data display logic on the charging management system. I haven't charged the car yet so no idea whats modified there.

Just got the update (Android) ... didn't need to sign in again. Can't see any difference yet - I wonder if they've reverted the Charging Power indication to 2 decimal places (like it was in the v1.x.x app)?

2.0.3 out for IOS. Updates to charge management and bug fixes apparently…
I have checked in the App for the update from my current version of 2.0.2 on my Iphone14 and it reports that I am already on the latest software ?.
It is not offering version 2.0.3 as of yet.
Phased roll out maybe ????.
If it arrives, it will be interesting to see if it reports my closest charger is less than 5,500 miles away !🤣.

(Ommmmmmmmmmmm - chants to remain calm and serene ..... ;))

tl;dr - if you can't already see your bound car in the app, you're logged in to the wrong account.

If you've previously used the app, and can no longer use it in the new version, but you are logged in, then ... you are logged in to the wrong account! Simple as that.

You MUST login using the original details you used when creating your account. If that was via email, use that ... if via phone number (without the leading 0), use that. I don't care if you've previously been able to login via either method in the old app, you MUST login (first time) using the original login details.
Sorry, I only have one account, my phone number...... (unless I haven't understood you, which is likely)

My old password had an "@" in it so I have changed my password but still the iSmart asks me to rebind.

Today it updated to 2.0.2 (Android) but still no luck. I forced stopped the app, cleared the cache, uninstalled the app, restarted the phone, reinstalled, I even changed my PW again...nothing.

I guess I'll have to hope that 2.0.3 will fix it!

As mentioned by guru, try searching the AppStore, that’s how I got my update.

Don’t expect much from the closest charger - apparently mine is well over 5k miles away too :ROFLMAO:

Mine worked perfectly. ChargePlace Scotland, 438 yards away. (Also indicates one up on the main road 657 yards away but if that exists I wasn't aware of it.)

ETA: No sign of that second one on CPS's own app (or ZapMap or Plugshare), and the MG app seems to place it in somebody's back garden, so I'd say it doesn't exist. Worrying, but it's bang on with the closer one.

ETA again: ABRP has something at that location, but the text says it's a couple of 22 Kw type 2 plugs at the Fire Station. The Fire Station is not there. ABRP says nothing about whose they are or who can use them. (The MG app just indicates a charger, and gives the address as Dolphinton Road, which is certainly where the map marker is, but no chargers.) So there may be a general mix-up over something here.

Who knows what sort of wizardry is going on with the app. I just pray it keeps letting me access the car, preheat it, unlock and drive it on the very odd occasion I need the digital key. The other stuff on the app isn’t something I normally use.

I installed the version 2.0.2 this evening, on Android. It looks more stable and the misc functions operate faster than before. Let's wait and see how it performs after some days of use, but it looks promising.

Oh dear, bad to worse. Just tried installing V2.0.2 from the Play Store on my Android phone (8.0.1) and now the app won't even open, just a black screen. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting phone in-between, several times, getting nowhere. Anyone having the same issue? Ideas?

Does the Play Store say the app is compatible with your phone?
It's possible Android 8 is too old for it. (The latest phones are on Android 13 or 14).

The app says it's compatible with Android 8.0 and up so it should work unless they haven't updated the requirement in the play store.
Try downloading the app but don't open it. Then go to the apps settings on your phone and delete the storage and cache before trying to open the app again.

Thanks for the responses. The app reports it is compatible with Android 8 and above, and my device is listed as compatible. Certainly iSmart V2.0.1 worked (" ") ok with it, but no joy so far with V2.0.2.

As you suggested Ian, tried clearing the cache before opening it after install, no different. I haven't dared to clear the data as well, as I think I will have to rebind the app to the car - is this true? That's the next step to try anyway. It's no good if it won't run, bound or not!

It's quite likely if no-one else is having the same issues that it is a problem with my phone. Anyone else successfully running iSmart with Android 8?
