    power point in boot?

I've bought a double 12v point off aliexpress with the intention to do exactly this (aliexpress.com/item/32915762340.html). It's sitting on my desk waiting for a day when I can have a go - and will likely do so for some time yet! I did start a thread on this before I made the purchase and I...

ELECTRIC CAR INSURANCE HUGE INCREASES BY 72%

Market forces dictate that if someone is charging too much someone else will see the opportunity to charge less - it's just a matter of finding them. As BEV's are still quite new and disruptive this carries a higher risk and/or cost to the insurer due to it not being the same as before - they...

    Error messages vanish too quickly

In relation to the infotainment screen there is a dark mode. IMHO this looks a lot better anyway, as it blends in with the dash more. On the home screen swipe left- one of the buttons is settings and that is where you can adjust the screen.

New to Android Auto - any tips?

    Probably - I didn't check the spelling.... 🫣

New to Android Auto - any tips?

You can't play music saved on your phone via bluetooth whilst connected to AA - so I downloaded "Musicalot", which works with AA and all is good. Do try the bite size games - they are really silly (maybe not chess, but not had long enough wait to try that one!) but they pass the time. I prefer...

Installing 12v socket in boot of ZS EV (facelift)?

Sounds fair. I was wondering where to run the cable. When (if) I get time I'll see what I can do and update on the results. Short term, yes, long term it seems messy and might get pulled out etc. We don't have kids, just a small dog, so i expect the cable that comes with the coolbox would...

Installing 12v socket in boot of ZS EV (facelift)?

I'm exploring the idea of putting a 12v socket in the boot for running a camping fridge thingy without needing to trail the cable through the car. It's early days and I don't want to do anything too complicated, but my current thinking is get a 12v socket from Aliexpress/ebay etc (maybe...

So do you like your MG ZS EV?

Part of the reason I bought the base model car was this - I actually didn't want a mobile greenhouse with plastic seats - not in Portugal where it's 40C today! I have added a back seat organiser from Ali-express (£10 for 2) to make up for the lack of that on the base model. The EU model comes...

So do you like your MG ZS EV?

I'm not a car nut. Our main reason for getting the ZS over the MG5 was that it's cheaper in Portugal and we, foolishly, thought it would come sooner. :ROFLMAO: We wanted an electric car and this was the only real option that suited us at the time. It's a bigger car than I've been accustomed to...

MG ZS EV 2023 Issues with reading speed limit road signs in KM/H (kilometers/h) Units

The Republic of Ireland uses KM also and drives on the left (but I've just realised Malta's maximum speed doesn't go up to 100... maybe they do a 65??) - so folks in Ireland - can your car see 100 signs!? I'm stepping out of this one now - I don't use the feature anyway and check the speed...

MG ZS EV 2023 Issues with reading speed limit road signs in KM/H (kilometers/h) Units

So I went past a few 100 signs and they all seemed to be picked up by the system, as did the 120 signs - so maybe it's not the car at fault, though, obviously, the traffic drives on the right, not the left, in mainland Europe - so maybe the software is different in RH drive cars. Is there any...

MG ZS EV 2023 Issues with reading speed limit road signs in KM/H (kilometers/h) Units

Intriguing! I'm going out later - I'm pretty certain it picks out 100 signs here - but they are not that common - let's see if I pass one. 65 - never seen one here, so won't be able to help with that. To be fair, I think the speed limit reader is not really useful. For instance, if it sees a...

MG ZS EV 2023 Issues with reading speed limit road signs in KM/H (kilometers/h) Units

Is your car set to display in KM? Mine works with KM in Portugal (not that it's worth much because Portugal doesn't always use speed limit signs - you're just expected to know that when you enter an urban area the limit is 50 and when you leave it's 90... there is no sign- so the car has no...

ZS EV 2022 Gen 2 Headlamp bulbs

Just resurrecting this thread. For bulb types the handbook just says - "LED" for everything except the reversing lights and indicators (which are W16W 16W and WY16W 16W respectively) and internal etc. So my questions: Is it the same bulb for each LED? Is it one bulb to rule them all or is it...

Android Ismart app - pop up notifications?

I expect I did, but when I click it it comes up with the option to "agree", so I'm not sure if I did or didn't - so, just in case, I clicked it again.... and again! Let's see if anything happens on the next notification. Thanks for your perseverance. It's not a biggie and it's definitely a first...

Android Ismart app - pop up notifications?

thanks. I've finally found the notifications permissions.... And they are already all turned on! 😕 And the settings on the app are as you have them. Looks like it's a glitch then! Hey ho!

    MG ZS missing V2L function

The specs vary between EU and UK - but if it has been quietly removed from the UK variants its really annoying to say the least. Mine works btw.....😁

First car, first week, first scrape :(

I pranged our new ZS less than a week after getting it, reversing out of our drive - no dents but needs paint on the rear plastic bits. Passed my test 25 odd years ago - so it happens to anyone, don't worry. A small lapse in concentration, lots going on, unfamiliar car - but its a good reminder...
