Thanks for that - very interesting. No special tools like extractors required just the weight to handle but that is the same as an ice.
Didn't see the coolant header tanks caps removed to encourage flow
Probably the weather ie. wind & temperature, your speed & how heavy footed you were.
I did an 80ml round trip in my short range ZS(167mls) last week on the M1. Started on 184eco but had to recharge to get home- gales, rain & heater on 2!
Yes this summer regularly been getting over 200 because only driving in town & kWh per mile is over 4. The stored trip data affects the range calculation. If you zeroise the trip data I think the range will be nearer the WLTP combined 163ml range & if you look at the spec the WLTP city range is...
As Susanna says 'back to factory settings' so you probably won't get any more kms range & the fully charged range will still change over time depending on several factors. From what I've heard the BMS is a complicated piece of software & hardware.
Hi - If you haven't zeroised your trip stats namely the kms/kWh then that will affect your car's range calculation as the trip info reflects the way & the conditions in which you drive.
Also unlike ice cars where specific amounts of fuel are input enabling accurate calculations the ev battery...
The gen1 ZS's don't have app control so granny charging is manually controlled which can be inconvenient.
I bought a Tapo plug for £10 which is controlled by app on your phone. It is a 3pin 13amp rated plug which plugs into your normal 3pin socket in between the charger plug.
You can then...
Sorry Dragon but I think you are wrong on both counts. My ZS charges to at least 90% at the same rate.
The OBC unit contains more that just the AC charger & yes rapid charge is DC the same as battery however I don't think the connection is direct as in 'uncontrolled' otherwise accidental 350kW...
I'm pretty happy to find a public rapid charger that works & I can use. In my short experience I have found most don't even show the charge rate & the ones that do I have never seen at more than 35kW on my ZS even the Ionity chargers near me that advertise 350KW. As someone said 6x350kW is...
Have you not seen my post about this problem?
First thing to do is try a public rapid charger i.e DC. (tethered) If that works then the AC part of the on board charger is probably faulty. Mine was replaced under warranty FOC last week.
Just an update on my original post in case Sam Luscombe is watching as I ran out of time.
I found Luscombes Leeds very good on the job once my charging problem was confirmed.
They sent a driver to pick my car up, fitted a new OBC & returned my car within 4hrs all FOC within the no quibble...
hi similar symptoms on my 2yr old ZS. Couldn't charge for several days but DC charge on public charger ok. Garage couldn't find fault first time I took it in & it was ok for a few days then stopped again. next time garage couldn't make it charge & couldn't find fault so MG told them to fit a new...
Hi You may not have seen my previous ZS post on hit & miss granny charging - anyway Luscombes MG couldn't find the fault so MG HQ told them to fit a new onboard charger. Happening this Friday. The AC/DC inverter is the problem as fortunately the DC side works ok on public rapid chargers.
This post is really a follow up to my previous hit & miss charger problem post of 5th Feb but I thought with the latest info & a lot of forum uncertainty re charging that I would start a new post.
My first visit to Luscombes Leeds had the charger working at that time so they couldn't fault it &...
We have solar panels that generate 3kW max & up to 1kW+ even this time of year. Any round only plug public or granny won't work which includes a home charger.
Hi
My MG granny charger started hit & miss charging a couple of months ago then 10 days ago it stopped charging altogether so I phoned Luscombes Leeds & they suggested I tried a public charger.
If I plug in just using the round plug like the granny charger the public charger says it is charging...
were you on a slope? I parked car switched off got out then decided to park a bit better. got back in & started. put car in d & it went backwards. found out later that drive doesn't engage if drivers safety belt not on! So car kept rolling backwards - in my panic I think I also must have taken...
My MG supplied 3pin charger will not charge unless my traction battery is well below 7/8 (say 90%) full charge. Had the car over a year now & don't recall the problem.
Is this normal or Is the charger or something in the car deteriorating?
Your MG Dealer now also registers your car on the Digital Service Record platform, meaning that should you need to, you will be able to access the service history of your vehicle through a national database of MG dealers.
