You can't watch anything while moving .The gear selector has to be in P . I occasionally watch films or t.v while charging.

FWIW I use the VLC player on my phone through android auto and it works every time. I also use it for video files ,although since the update I've lost the full screen which is annoying when watching films .

I really don't understand how these updates can be so flaky that they'll give different cars different issues!!

My app couldn't see my car while it was parked at Gatwick for 10 days as it was parked in a multi storey carpark . My experience was the same as Rolfe's above . Absolutely no problems at all when I returned to the car .
