Does anyone want to share their experience getting a home charger installed?
Who installed it?
What kind of charger?
Were you happy with the service? The product?
I'm thinking (again) about getting one, but there does seem to a worrying diversity in the quality of the service provided.
I've got a 2021 (pre-facelift) ZS EV and have noticed a couple of oddities with the trip computer.
According to the manual, the button on the end of the indicator stalk is supposed to change modes on the trip computer (rectangular LCD between the dials). It does nothing on my car. I found an...
Clearly Citroen think there's a market for a short range electric car. Unfortunately we in the UK have now divorced from the EU homologation rules which means that manufactirers have an additional hurdle beyond moving the steering wheel to the other side of the car. But I notice that SAIC are...
Damn,
I was feeling that I was better off getting the pre-facelift car, despite the increased range / better seats but you have gone and shattered my delusion!
You might want to take it to an independent vehicle engineering specialist - if what you have descriebed here is accurate then there is a fault with your car. MG aren't easily going to admit any liability. Speak to your insurance company too.
Since you are in Edinburgh, I suggest signing up with Charge Place Scotland, but do see the thread I am currently updating regarding their truly abysmal app. Order a card as soon as you can.
For anyone who has persisted in reading the thread this far....double clicking on the map in the app zooms in a bit more reliably than the usual to touch spread motion.
(update: currently the car is plugged in at a "rapid" charger and getting aroung around 7kw.
My daughter borrowed car last night - promised to plug it in somewhere and charge it - but both the charging bays at her destination had cars parked in them - plugged in but not charging. Today I was down to my last 20 miles of range - and having MAJOR range anxiety. Really; the last time I was...
Today I discovered the nearest charger to my work is unfortunately under water.
(although when I try the postcode displayed in the app, Google thinks its about 5 miles north of here).
I put these on my MG3:

I'm a bit surpirsed that the MG ZS EV I took delivery of today now has embedded LED indicators linked to a computer linked to cameras/proximity...
Just picked up my ZS EV today (fortunately fully charged) and loving it.
But now I'm thinking about what happens when it needs recharged.
I signed up to chargeplace Scotland on the 11th August, requesting an RFID card but the card has not shown up yet. I've downloaded the app on my phone - a...
An interim update: I've been using the same electrician for the last few years and have some confidence in his abilities. He is of the opinion that the 100 Watt Amp looped supply may be OK to support a 7kW charger, but needs to speak to Scottish Power to get their blessing.
Meanwhile, talking...
Well, a bit of googling and I've now discovered what "looped supply" means (for anyone else reading this - its something of an oxymoron - it means more than one house sharing the same connection to the supply running along the street -...
Two of my neighbours with electric cars (one Tesla, one Mercedes) tell me they have to get their distribution upgraded (cabling from meter to street) to support their EV wallboxes. All our houses were built in the 1930s but I'm guessing the wiring that was replaced doesn't date back to then...
