electric

Electricity is the set of physical phenomena associated with the presence and motion of matter that has a property of electric charge. Electricity is related to magnetism, both being part of the phenomenon of electromagnetism, as described by Maxwell's equations. Various common phenomena are related to electricity, including lightning, static electricity, electric heating, electric discharges and many others.
The presence of either a positive or negative electric charge produces an electric field. The movement of electric charges is an electric current and produces a magnetic field.
In most applications, a force acts on a charge with a magnitude given by Coulomb's law. Electric potential is typically measured in volts.
Electricity is at the heart of many modern technologies, being used for:

Electric power where electric current is used to energise equipment;
Electronics which deals with electrical circuits that involve active electrical components such as vacuum tubes, transistors, diodes and integrated circuits, and associated passive interconnection technologies.Electrical phenomena have been studied since antiquity, though progress in theoretical understanding remained slow until the 17th and 18th centuries. The theory of electromagnetism was developed in the 19th century, and by the end of that century electricity was being put to industrial and residential use by electrical engineers. The rapid expansion in electrical technology at this time transformed industry and society, becoming a driving force for the Second Industrial Revolution. Electricity's extraordinary versatility means it can be put to an almost limitless set of applications which include transport, heating, lighting, communications, and computation. Electrical power is now the backbone of modern industrial society.

Best charging speed you've seen so far?

On holiday in Lincolnshire for a few days and been using BP Pulse 50kW chargers to top up my ZS LR. Just used an Osprey 75kW charger near Cleethorpes and managed to get up to 52.3 kW after about 20 minutes. Made me wonder what the max power draw is on the ZS. What's the best you've seen on...

    MG4 Odometer Issue

Hi everyone, I've had my MG4 for a couple of weeks on a salary sacrifice scheme through work. Have to say I'm loving the car but was concerned at the miles apparently racked up on the time I've had it. My daily commute is just under 19 miles each way. This morning I drove on a full charge and...

How many chargers at your work place?

I plugged in my car at the office today and once it had reached 100% I went to move it so as to free up a bay for someone else. I couldn't see all the charging bays but I assumed someone might have needed one. When I left the office tonight, as I was walking back to my car I started counting the...

    MG4 Lane change assist

Does the MG4 have LCA lane change assist? By this I mean being able to automatically change lanes when the indicator is used and the next lane is free. This is not the same thing as LKA lane keep assist which prevents the car from drifting out of the lane. Some people confuse the two features...

MG4 LFP Battery state of health

Hi everyone! I'm second owner. It had 10500 (6524 mile) kilometers on it when I bought it and SOH was 93.64% . Now my car is 17500(10873 mile) km and SOH is 93.15%. There is a difference -0.49% in 7000 kilometers. I just wanted to hear your ideas and suggestions. First of all is it normal...

    Purchasing MGZS

    Question about adaptive regen

Every time I set regen in Adaptive mode, seems to me it's just constantly at level 2 without ever changing. No matter if I'm on a highway or in traffic, it always feels exactly the same. I was wondering what's your experience with it or if I'm doing something wrong here.

My current gripe with my MG4 LR/Trophy (Right hand drive)

So I got a LR edition sourced from Australia/NZ or made for that market.
