    So good bought another one

Well went for a test drive in the MG5 LR just for the extra range, as my wife does a few of round trips of 160 miles a year, and although the ZS is fine in summer she has been sweating in the winter, although she has always had plenty miles left. Main concern with the MG5 was comfort and getting...

    AC charging.

Can anyone tell me what the on board charger max AC charging rate is on the latest Long Range ? Is it now three phase?

Does anyone actually use Speed Assist on the 5LR?

I ask as I do, but it seems to me that it's a pretty poor implementation. Not sure how it compares to the ZS though. 1) You have to turn it back on in the infotainment unit EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE, regardless of manual or intelligent, it sets back to 'off' when you start the car. I wouldn't mind -...

    First service at 15k

Booking at Richmond Group, Southampton very good. I didn’t need a loan car so they found a convenient day and time. Booked in when I dropped the car off by filling out a form with contact and vehicle details. I was contacted by text and a missed voicemail to tell me car has been services and is...

    Higher in the Highlands

How about this for a new PB? I've had some amazing figures coming down from up in the Peak District, but this one today was something else. Starting point was the ski station in the Cairngorm range, around 2,000ft up, finishing at Nethy Bridge, 1,200 ft below. Slow average speed as the mountain...

The rumour is it is ending at the end of this month. If you are thinking about it, perhaps wise to do it now.

Slight burning smell with heater use

My MG5 is a couple of months old now and only very recently have I needed to use the heater. When it comes on there seems to be a smell which is rather like a faint burning smell. I assume this may be because it is a relatively new heater but wanted check if anyone else has noticed anything...

I've replaced my wheels with something a bit flashier. Before I post on eBay, they are available as a job lot. Collection from Dorset or can courier I guess. I'll wash them (not that they are very dirty) and I can't see any scratches or other cosmetic damage. Original wheel bolts included...

    P(ark)

Hi, In anticipation of getting my MG5 I was looking for a bit of advice on parking. My previous diseasal automatic had P for Park on the gear selector, which locked the transmission somehow - so I didn't usually bother with the handbrake (electronic) unless I was on an incline. Is it a similar...

    Apple carplay on mg5

Hi, what are people‘s experience with apple play on the MG5? I’ve heard reports (and the few minutes of use confirm it) that the build in user interface of the mg5 is a bit meh and unresponsive. But with apple play is this kind of irrelevant If the user interface is powered by apple instead...

    Charging etc

I was reading a couple of articles regarding rapid charging and effect on battery life over time etc. the common them to be is not to charge over 80% and not to frequently rapid charge as rapid charging generates a lot of heat which can be damaging to the battery. Also same goes with fast...
