The windshield (North American English) or windscreen (Commonwealth English) of an aircraft, car, bus, motorbike, truck, train, boat or streetcar is the front window, which provides visibility while protecting occupants from the elements. Modern windshields are generally made of laminated safety glass, a type of treated glass, which consists of, typically, two curved sheets of glass with a plastic layer laminated between them for safety, and bonded into the window frame.
Motorcycle windshields are often made of high-impact polycarbonate or acrylic plastic.

    Windscreen wiper scraping bonnet

    I washed my MG5 for the first time today and found that the passenger side wiper scraps the rear edge of the bonnet when lifting it up to wash the windscreen. The pivot end of the arm is too wide. I guess this is a right hand drive conversion design issue. Any one else found this ?

    Just noticed today that if the wiper stalk is pushed down after ignition is turned off the wipers go to the upright position .they can then be sprung open without catching the bonnet paint.i guess this could be handy for replacement or cleaning

    Bonnet damage by windscreen wipers.

    Hope this tip is useful to others;- I have placed a strip of rubber door edge protection along the rear edge of my bonnet. This should prevent damage to paint when trying to free frozen wipers. (Yes I know I should “park” wipers during frosty weather but never remember).
