A little bit weird (mi/kWh increased to 9)

A strange thing happened this morning whilst trying to charge my Trophy at an Instavolt charger. Payment accepted and confirmed, charger connected. Started countdown trying to connect after 40 seconds connected and then stopping message came up and charge full notice, but screen showed only 76%. No charge added and HV battery warning light on car screen.
Unplugged and gave up trying to charge. Drove away and miles per kWh was showing 9 miles to the KWh and stayed at this level for over 40 miles, then slowly went down to 5 miles to the kWh over the next 30 miles. I stopped and powered down twice but still went back to the same level as before stopping. Great for fuel consumption, but worrying.

Has anyone else has a similar experience?

Sort of, it wasn't an Instavolt charger, but after using a rapid charger to charge car, battery percentage altered to level of charge added. Drove off, battery percentage did not drop, and miles per kWh kept going up until maximum (20 miles per kWh) Stayed like that despite covering many miles until I connected car to a normal AC charger, at which point the battery percentage changed to the actual level. I charged to 100% just in case, and allowed it to complete a balance charge. Everything was fine after that, and it's not happened again. This was at least a year ago.

That's certainly weird. I wonder if it's unbalanced, and one or more cells were full, but the average was 76% usable. That seems like a pretty large imbalance, but it's possible if the BMS hasn't seen 100% for a while, especially if you have an LFP battery.

I note that @dsimpkins had his symptoms stop following a balance. @meandi, have you balanced recently?
