Hi! waiting to receive the car! I tested the audio system during testdrive and felt a bit disappointing. As far i understand its only 30w for 6 speakers? Anyways im looking to get an active sub, or go out of budget and get an amp+sub and replace all the speakers 😂 .I would love to get some suggestions from anyone that has done smth on the cars audio system, also would appreciate if there is any info on the door speakers dimensions width depth etc so i can limit my research. One last thing that i read about and dont know if its true is the car battery can handle a certain limit amp draw which on hybrids is less than conventional cars? Cheers!

Since a car is about the worst acoustic space imaginable, every €, £, $ (or whatever currency) invested in "improvement" is money thrown away.
I would say: accept it as it is and use your money for something sensible.
strongly disagree, for me its the most enjoyable space

For you it can be the most enjoyable space to listen to music, that does not change the fact that a car interior is about the worst possible acoustic 👂 space and music 🎼🎷🎺🎻🎸reproduction never reaches an acceptable level. That is already quite difficult in (for example) a living room...

I have had my car for 3 months and the only thing I don't like is the audio. Clear enough but no base. I would love to add a sub, but beyond my capability.

You make a very good point, it's not so much the system- which can be specifically developed for the car by an audio specialist during development, but the surrounding noise of driving a car.
My other car has a specific system developed by Lexicon with poweramp subwoofer and more speakersthan you can count, and in certain formats claims to offer 'Reference' sound reproduction. Of course, if your travelling down the motorway/autoroute/autobahn etc (depending on where you live!), the quality will always be compromised. Even in a large executive car, where you could argue its natural 'habitat' is long distances, try listening to a piece of classical music - all the softer notes are completely lost, unless you raise the volume, and then your deafened by the stronger sections!
I'm certainly no audio file expert, but all that said, improvements can most definitely by made to the OEM system fitted to the MG.
Decent speakers and even an Amp, can improve the depth of sound, and certainly the bass of that's important to you. But obviously within the limitations of being in a car!

It's definitely possible to improve sound quality, but it's how discerning you are. 'All that jazz' is correct in what he's saying, but what he's saying is more applicable to an enthusiast. To the casual listener, improved speakers as a first step will definitely makea difference, and depending on whag youmlisten to, a power amp can help if the new speakers require a higher power input.

if u upgrade speakers without getting an amp u wont do much cause its 30w/6 speakers 5w per speaker anyway, thats why i asked if anyone has done anything to get some ideas

I would suggest a boot mounted amp, perhaps under the boot floor.

nah mate im not an expert, clearly you are are the expert calling everyone who wants a better audio in their car a fool cause its not a perfect hearing environment

I'm sorry to say, but this makes clear that we are dealing with an expert...
I would disagree. Whilst I'm no audio expert, I am familiar with audio outputs, as could be the OP of this question.
I get the impression you're talking about listening to sound reproduction in its most perfect form - such as a custom built acoustically designed room, with speakers and a chair positioned accordingly.
Of course, despite all the attempts by auto makers to promote their latest 'high end upgraded system' the compromise of being in a moving car will always exist. Even the act of driving will take away our concentration to what you are listening to.
I suppose what I'm saying is that there are experts and then there are real experts who demand as near to perfection as is possible, also you can introduce the quality of the recording, and through what medium its being played on.

where was i wrong about the audio outputs? i didnt say anything about perfect, state of the art or custom build, u started all these from the 1st reply

All I initially said was that (in my humble opinion, of course) spending any money on improving a car's audio system is a waste of money.
That with mentioning the reason why I think so.
Anyone who disagrees can spend as much money as they want on the 'improvements'. I won't, I'd rather put that money into something sensible (like the audio system at home). 😉

I'm not disagreeing with what you said about outputs, but what 'All that Jazz' says about spending on improving the audio in your car.
He has however clarified his original point...
