Build Date

So for a car that's taking almost 4 months delivery from the date of order, could this have been sitting round in China for a number of months beforehand?

If I don't get the CoC as it's a lease car is there a definitive way to find the exact build date?

There may be a label on the parcel shelf ... the date on it should be fairly close to the final build date of the car, as they likely get parts supplied on a Just In Time basis to minimise parts inventory costs.

The CoC on mine was in a plastic wallet inside the glovebox - so it may depend on whether or not the lease company remove stuff from the car as to whether you'll get it.

Agreed, it's under the parcel shelf. (Unless of course it's been removed) It can be hard to read, but you can just see it.

On reflection I was talking bollocks ... there's no way any MG4 could have a build date of March 2022.

There were MG4s plated on 22s, why not?

Sure they were introduced in September 2022 but there were cars that were registered before then.

Famous press cars I'm thinking are the tango ones LA22 WNP and LA22 WNR.

That's where I went wrong. I keep the shelf in the back bedroom as the seats are permanently folded down so I can transport the dogs. If I had left it in the car I wouldn't have had the charging problem that took 6 months to rectify.
