Comfort Pack 2 Update MG ZS EV

Yeah I've heard all that before. I believe a horn or alarm must not sound for more than 30 minutes. Correct me if I'm wrong

When is it illegal to use your horn? - THE HIGHWAY CODE

It is illegal to sound your horn from a STATIONARY vehicle , AT ANY TIME ! ... when driving in a built-up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am .

I understand that Mark but there are thousands of laws in this country that are not upheld and I doubt your get a policeman to take it seriously considering it's a few beeps of the horn. I do get where your coming from. I'm not looking for an argument. Just my view

Just read that letter, it's disgraceful. The dinosaurs need to take a leaf out of Tesla's book... I shall be writing to MG UK to let them know they have probably lost any future new car purchases from myself.
Hi Paulie
I'm a Technician for MG and workshop foreman so I speak to MG technical on a daily basis. I see how hard they try and I suppose I am a little protective of the MG brand. So with that in mind I wonder if MG had of brought out the June onwards EVs with the update and had not of offered it to owners of the older vehicles would it of been seen as a problem or would customers have accepted it as the model being improved upon. I suppose what I'm saying is. I feel MG has given the owners of the older vehicles a chance to gave the same improvement of the new and it is entirely upto the dealer if they charge or not. In fact I've update four or five now with no charge. So I'd look more at the dealer your using than MG itself. Please take this comment as is. It's not an attack but more a view from someone who actually sees what goes on.

Good evening, can anyone tell me when the Comfort Pack update was released?

Thank you
Hi its came out on the June cars. Some only had the bcm, ipk and gateway updated and not the infotainment system with temperature. I've updated a couple that only needed the fcim update which is just a usb inserted update

Hi there, I collected my ZSEV 26th May told fully updated but only the charge timer update done would there be a cut off date, not really fair if this update came out 5 days later. Cheers

I’m not looking for an argument either it’s a debate and we are both entitled to our opinions, Howe the fact remains whether a law enforcement officer would take it seriously or not it is in the eyes of the written law an illegal action and therefore if it can be fixed to ensure the car is legal it should be done and not at the cost of Customer.
Do Windows charge you for updates, does Apple charge of ISO updates, do Apps charge for updates and does Tesla charge for updates...no.
As a consumer if a product can be updated to make it better it should be all part of investing in the brand and MG needs to move with the times.
I love the car it is great value for money and my first EV, but that is only 50% of making a brand great the aftercare and support is just as important and from what we can see on this forum is that the MG franchise isn’t performing in unison leading to mistrust and disgruntled buyers.
On another note that need some more reviews to relaunch the car with the updates and the initial reviews were not great, that should be feed back to MG head office.

At the risk of causing annoyance with out intent. The law states that we as drivers must not sound the horn.
Does it say the car cannot. House alarms, car alarms would all be illegal yes

I do love Mg's Worked on the MG Rovers for 15 years until they went under so I was chuffed to bits to see the MG badge back in this country. Even if there built in china we design them from the same site we designed the originals. The main technical specialist who writes all of the literature for the training is the same man who did it for MG Rover so I no them very well through all the training courses I have attended. Its nothing to do with MG training or brain washing, its knowing MG and other manufacturers spend millions on making sure vehicles comply with the country there going to be in so it only makes sense to me the law must of been taken into consideration and it may have been as simple as the law states a person must not push the horn.
Any way, I enjoyed the chat. all the best. Oh the MG3 pre-2016 uses the coil packs from the old K-series. I was blown away o_O

Thank you for all your input and debate it’s always good to hear others points of views even if like me I feel I’m right and do not want to be told I’m wrong...?

Blooming Heck!.......are you sure it wasn't swapped for a Tesla overnight? ......or have you changed the units to Kilometres.......
I think I'll try a slow charge next time.....
Today’s update on slow charge overnight 208 mls on the GOM with an 4.4 miles per kWh accumulated total - see photos
As an update I don’t believe it was fully charged as the first bar dropped after about 14 miles, however see other photos. Range left after about 56.6 miles at 65 to 70 mph 144...
Has anyone seen a massive increase in distance with the updates, what are the new owners achieving, is it temperature, is is something else can someone advise...

Hi Folks,
This range issue has now thoroughly been investigated and put to bed. There are several YouTube commentaries on this issue. In fact @Stuart Wright recently uploaded one on this forum.
Please be realistic any changes in Range are due to temperature and temperature alone.
The truth of the matter is that of all the EVs in it's class the ZS EV is the worst in terms of range and fuel efficiency and the best in price. No amount of updating will change that so let us gracefully move on and focus on other issues we can improve like an app etc.
