Where did you get it done? When they did the update they said some European countries don’t have R34.

The dealer had to do the upgrade via another module not directly to the infotainment system.
When I try playing this test via my iPhone and a cable I get nothing during the subwoofer test.
Do others get any sound during the subwoofer test.
Get a list of what the update fixes including the MG Pilot options that apparently let you save some settings maybe. Then tell them you want those fixes. Or try another dealer.I've just had a door proximity sensor replaced; when dropping the car off at the dealer I mentioned my disappointment with the sub-woofer, so they performed a test and they say it's working. I have the R31 software but they won't update it unless they agree that there's a problem.

This is great news! Can you share some more info about what MG location made it work? MG the Hague was not kept in the loop and needs some more info to help my Cyberster outFinally, it worked.
After the sixth attempt, a specialist from MG Europe managed it.
This guy had the latest software, as well as the latest equipment (tablet and wireless transmitter) to download and upload/install it.
Now the version R34 software is finally installed, and I have to say, the sound has improved considerably.
The rear speakers are now audible, but not intrusive.
You're now more immersed in the sound because it's coming from all directions.
Everyone's happy again!
