I charged mine once on my lawn mower extension lead. Charged slow and cable got warm
Made an extension lead from 2.5 mm flexible, with an MK plug and socket. Its an heavy load, any sign of warmth suggests a bad connection or undersized cable

Ditto !.
I used a outside single socket outlet that was IP65 rated.
I had to modify it a bit to get the lid to close firmly as the OEM plug and cable on the “Granny” is a bit larger than your standard 13 Amp three pin plug set up.
