If an EVSE is plugged into the car then yes it should enable you to do that.

There is a switch to start/stop charging and you can set the charging rate and scheduler as well:

There are three:

select.lsjwhXXXX_scheduled_charging_mode
text.lsjwhXXXX_scheduled_charging_start
text.lsjwhXXX_scheduled_charging_end

The "XXXX" is my car's ID.

I don't however use them as I control charging with my wall charger.

So .. I think I have it working the way I want it to work .. I don't use the scheduling from the car, but instead I just turn it off and turn it on when the logic I created says it's time to charge (or to stop charging) ..
I have a dynamic energy contract - so the electricity price changes every hour and the 'cheap tariff' doesn't come at the same time every day .. by creating an automation rule, I don't have to think anymore .. just plugged-in the cable and let the HA automation logic works ..

I'm using the MG/SAIC - Custom Integration

I think @wattmatters uses the addon which is why he didn't understand your question about intervals.
I use that as well - it's more difficult to install but is more powerful than the custom integration.
So how do you turn charging on and off with the custom integration?

ah ok ... didn't realize there were 2 options ...

I use this action to turn on charging and there's another action to turn it off
