MG service plan details

I have paid my dealer for the next 3 services on the ZS and checked the MG service cost and it was about the same as the dealer. I have also taken a 4 year plan out with MG service for my new S5.
The MG service plan is a lot less than the cost Hyundai wanted for our old Tuscon.
At the end of the day it is your choice who you use? I could say how much are you being paid? People are on this forum to have their view and to find answers to questions they have not to be insulted.:(:(:(

yep about the same as you say. comparing mg with hyundai is like pork and stake two different sorts of meat both meat but different price ranges. Yep its my choice and i was under the impression i was choosing a large national and reputable company, but what do i get? miss out a major part of the service then charge you extra for doing when you complain. I get paid the basic state pension (£6.25 an hour at 40 hour/week rate) not £68 an hour like stoneacre charge for doing something they should ave already done in the first place.

This thread seems to be an MG love-in to me, not finding any answers to questions

Not true!

I understand your annoyance that you have, apparently, been charged rather more for your recent service than the "official" MG service plan page would suggest but, as has been pointed out, the option to take out one of those plans and have the service done at a dealer of your choice was, and I believe, still is open to you.

To describe the honest and truthful words of another poster as "drivel" is wholly uncalled for, in my opinion.

not apparently, but actually, do you want to see the invoices. my gripe is and i will try to be as clear as possible

I had a fourth service which was charge at the average going rate (happy)

discovered they has missed out changing the coolant in the battery/motor system (not happy) as a a so called professional company how do you manage to do this?

bring it back and we will do the coolant (a bit happier) they say

they charged me for doing this (totally pissed off)

do you like paying twice for something????? and wasting your time going back???????

if its got web feet and quacks then i describe it as a duck

if i think its drivel then thats my opinion, how do yo you know they are honest and truthful thats just your opinion

So - reading through this it looks as though the service was done without a service plan - is that correct? If so, then the quoted pricing that is on the service plan page is less likely to be adhered to, and as you said, the dealer just billed you a fee based on how they chose to price it.

Most of the comments on this thread relate to the published pricing for each service IF you go for a service plan - NOT if you pay for the service in isolation.

It's not an MG love in, it's a response to the question about the details of the service plan, not the separate service charges.

Any dealer for any marque will do the same thing if they can, since the market for dealer service pricing isn't regulated.

Also, given the experience you describe about them missing something they should have done, then trying to charge you for their mistake, that isn't the fault of anyone on here unless they were the one trying doing the work.
Take it up with the dealer principle, then the franchise, then the manufacturer - don't take it out on here against people talking about a different pricing mechanism.

correct, 4th service £300, aprox same as the plan no problems with that.

yep its the MG service plan love in again, i pay as i go as i might sell the car before the next service is due. Has anyone managed to cancel a service plan or indeed get a refund.

taken it up with stoneacre and you get .................silence, the MD is not accessible by phone or email, but will try linked in and as a last resort a letter.

youve nearly got it right, its not about the price of the service, its not about the lovely MG service plan, its about the dealer not following MGs service procedure (regardless of what they charge) and then charging again for what they missed.

dosent instil much confidence in the brand or the dealer, what did the they miss off in the three previous services, it is one way of making a bit of extra cash or is that me seeing ducks everywhere.
