Having never leased, this may sound stupid, but when you sign the lease contract do you state in said contract lease start date and if so what happens if you do not receive the car on time are you still obliged to pay the lease from that date.?

Signed my agreement in November. No payment required until the vehicle arrives.

Spotted my first MK2 Red Trophy in Portsmouth. Brand new, looks like just left showroom. Grill and A pillars vinal wrapped in black.
Hope i receive mine before end of year. Great looking car

I think thats the 'black edition' which I've only seen at Luscombes. Funny how they didn't seem to be affected by the chip shortage or anything else .

I was thinking of getting mine wrapped (when it comes) silver LR, like the black roof look, but not sure about the front as does it make it look like the MK1? The other thing is, I dislike that little black line just above the number plate as it makes the car look like a stupid smiling face..maybe just me…guess I’d have to go off and see the wrap people to see what they could come up with…maybe it could be as easy as just covering it in silver, I don’t know if it servers a purpose or not…well I can have a think about it till it trues up..

Was at the British GP last weekend and saw 2 MK2's in the car park. I was shocked. One Red and one black. I agree they look so nice and can't wait to get my hands on mine....

A couple of noteworthy ships with potential MGs:

• Goodwood - Due 21st July - 14hrs in Shanghai
• Leo Spirit - Due 5th Aug - 48hrs in Shanghai

48hrs is a lot of time to fill up with cars - A lot of people (myself included) seem to be [still] being told August / September - so maybe this is the vessel that'll be turning frowns upside-down.

We shall see.

Just had a call from my dealer my Trophy SR is ready and now awaiting a shipping instruction

Ordered on the 18th of April

Expected delivery before end of September from originally mid august

Added bonus means it will now have a 72 plate lol

I had seen a blue one last week in Pity Me and then a Black one this morning in West Rainton, both near Durham. The black looked really nice but still holding out for the Silver LR I ordered in March.

Not to put a dampener on that, but remember SAIC also make all the VW and General motor vehicles for the chinese market, they have 3 other of their own marques over MG, and then MGs are sold worldwide, so only a small fraction of that number will be UK bound MG ZS vehicles, but we can live in hope!

Not a dampener at all. Totally understand they make for other companies, but still 13,000 a day! That’s loads!!! Mental!!!!

At least they are back to pre covid manufacturing levels that should mean no delays due to chip shortages etc etc

I ordered my black Trophy LR on 12th January. the latest date I had was 6th September. I've now been advised that my "vehicles estimated arrival date, is showing 'TBA' (To Be Arranged)."
Fortunately, my Nissan Leaf 40KWh is keeping me going.
There are only so many You Tube reviews of the car one can watch.

TBA is the only official line from MG now on waiting orders, unless the car is built and ready to deliver.

So popped into the local MG dealership…a load of new faces?..ask this very nice guy where the manager Tony was..to be told he’d left, asked if he could help, so said I was enquiring about my car, does it still say “shortage, to be built, TBA” yes it did, so we had a chat about this and that, told I would get a car with a sunroof, I said I think it’s a mistake MG scrapping it, he said he thinks so too, maybe down to getting the chips, went on to say, he thinks MG may come out with a ZS special that comes with a sunroof, he said to me that he’s heard about a ship in the channel with loads of MGs on it, said it’s not true and he wished it was, so I go to leave and I say to this guy, (Tim) so are you going to be the new manager for here, “No, I’m the director for the dealership” oh, so your one of the guy that sit on the big table and not a salesman, “well I playing salesman today” said that the Coventry dealership was beating the other 5 that he looks after hands down, also said they are going to start sending emails out, even if it’s to say there’s no change, i said that’s one of the things that annoy me, hearing nothing..bit of news from him…I ordered mine 19/12/21, ordered put in or accepted by MG…28/1/22…so I guess I haven’t been waiting as long as I thought..he’d looked at all outstanding cars and contacted the sales manager for any updates..

forgot to say, as I asked about delivery dates and we had a laugh about them…he did say, he can get petrol one no problem, autos no problem, just all EV that he couldn’t get his hands on..
