MG4 Frunk now available

Have ordered a set with the struts. The struts were a definite buy, even if I decided against the frunk as an option. I'm thinking that the struts that are being provided may be better than the AliExpress ones.
They have been sent and are somewhere on the Nullarbor now.

Around 1kg of plastic for a 3d printer is around £20, but most commonly avaliable 3d printers are quite limited in the size of objects they can print - Anything larger than 300mm in any dimension it considered tricky, but not impossible
Could it be made in 2 pieces and held together with a couple of small nuts and bolts.Never seen a 3D printer in action I would like to see one working.

Has anybody mentioned and i know it is silly but this invalidates the warranty if fitted?
Reasons, mod of vehicle in critical component area effecting airflow and close proximity to critical wiring that could cause issues.

Not sure about the warranty, my frunk installs using the same clips and holes that are being used by the plastic cover that's there from factory. I'm sure they'll use it to get out of a warranty claim if they can.

My dealer would not service my ZS until I removed my home made frunk said it interfered with the air flow

Mine arrived from EVCars, remove the cover, fit the ball head bolts and it slides over them. Easy to remove and makes it frunkier. Or frootier. The struts were a little bit more involved, mostly removing the clips on the bonnet liner, but now done. Info from MG Australia suggested no warranty concern as such.

I ordered a frunk.at one today. Hoping it’s an easy install
:)
Yes its easy peasy! 4 ball head studs fix in existing holes, and it takes about 5 minutes from box to fitted in the car!!
I have one and its great, I ordered the extra net too.
One downside as far as I was concerned, and it can't be avoided, is that there are customs duties to be paid before its released from UK customs. (Damd Brexit!)

Yeah I did see your comment about it. 37 I think you said. I did look at getting it delivered to my mum in France (no dam brexit there) but saving was not worth the wait lol

I will have to also check how hard to take of the plastic cover there currently but if I remember that look easy
:)

I quite handy so no overly worried.

I do get the net too :-)

where did you get it from? I found an Australian site sell it for like £185 including shipping and struts but I fear the shipping for that would be very high.
German site frunk.at
Mentioned way back in this thread.
£155 plus duty which I think is about 37 but will have to wait and see.

PS no struts but I was bother about those.

I have seen a lot of people praising the struts especially if you're going in and out of the frunk. I worry about warranty atm so prob won't look into getting one yet.

Yeah I think if you will access it regularly it makes sense. I am planning on putting things there I do not use often. EG 12v jump starter, granny cable, tyre pump etc…

My type 2 I use often as I 100% public charge so leave that hooked in the trunk so near the charge port :)

PS warranty wise I will just remove it whenever it’s goes to the garage. Hopefully only for a yearly service
:)
