That's a different problem well known in R59 which does solve by changing in your phone the DNS of the WiFi connection to the hotspot. Set the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 & 1.1.1.1 and it will workLong time lurker here, but wanted to report the same issue.
I have a Mark 2 Trophy LR and I'm based in the UK.
I took it for it's service last Monday and got the software updated to r59 during the process.
The hotspot functioned perfectly on the way there but hasn't worked since.
The app still works, but the car now frequently shows 2G in areas it used to show 4G.
Regardless of if 2G/4G shows on screen, any connection to the hotspot shows no internet. The toggle in the data management tab can be turned on, but turns straight off.
Exactly that's the point. Weather data is also not available. What else? Better not to know. BTW I am still on R33.That's a different problem well known in R59 which does solve by changing in your phone the DNS of the WiFi connection to the hotspot. The issue we are having now is that the navigator refuses to gather traffic data from internet. The system menu to enable the network switch refuses to turn on, and the drop down quick settings show the traffic data greyed out .
The DNS fix sadly doesn't work for me in this instance. That's a different problem well known in R59 which does solve by changing in your phone the DNS of the WiFi connection to the hotspot. Set the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 & 1.1.1.1 and it will work

When I last spoke to an MG tech he mentioned that there are 2 esims in the car.If iSMART works, it's not an eSIM problem. It's a software problem.
500MB is anything but huge these days. There's another option to consider. What about the Internet Data limit of your cellular provider? Suppose the "tarif plan" for your MG connection has ~~500 MB monthly limit. Seems huge, but beware of regular updates of Weather and Traffic data, and you WiFi sharing...
It's weird, but credible. When I last spoke to an MG tech he mentioned that there are 2 esims in the car.
If he was correct, then ismart and eSOS could be using one sim and everything else the other.
This might also explain why SE models don't display the 4g signal level.
Pedro, I've never seen this menu with the red message. Seems not to display on R33. ISmart has always been unreliable, which is bad if you drive using the keyless feature?Hi guys,
I have same issue but in MG Marvel luxury
Can we get "pay" other plan then 1024 MB? My car give the information that "less than 10% of traffic consists of remaining data; Pay attention to use or recharge." Now i can't use MG ISMART. Always gave the information " Remote control instruction failed. Please try again later". Any idea for fixe this?
Thx in advance
Pedro from Portugal

Confusingly you can lock and unlock the vehicle remotely using iSMART and the mobile data stuff but it’s a different mechanism and you cannot start the vehicle using that alone.
