I had the recall update done earlier today on my Trophy, and LKA is off and staying off, as it was before the update. So that's good!
Yes but when your car next goes into dealer this will be changed to a preset.
I’ve been very unlucky and have had the lot, braking, LKA incidents, the airbag & other niggles which need repair but aren’t trying to run me off the road. My kids call it the deathtrap and ask if we can go in dads car instead. We are in discussions with dealer as to what to do with it.
This is the ‘locked in’ recall?I had the recall update done earlier today on my Trophy, and LKA is off and staying off, as it was before the update. So that's good!
Out of interest has anyone had a problem with high beam assist. We are getting a message that its unavailable and a yellow triangle on the driver display

I get that occasionally , seems to be if a leaf or some muck gets onto it . Having said that it often just clears itself.Out of interest has anyone had a problem with high beam assist. We are getting a message that its unavailable and a yellow triangle on the driver display

You've had to put with more than most, your kids name for the car speaks volumes. It would be gone if it was mineYes but when your car next goes into dealer this will be changed to a preset.

Thanks so much for claryifing I did think it was the bumper sensor. But the fact it's on the screen makes a lot of senseAre you thinking of the sensor under the front bumper?
AFAIK the headlight sensor is up at the top/middle of the windscreen.
Ice that the heater can’t reach is the most common cause of that switching off.
If they can’t sort this out, I’m literally gonna have to return the car. Lane assist is so dangerous on country roads, and it’s so much effort to turn it off everytimeDoes anyone know how to disable lane assist & speed sign alerts permanently …lane assist pull is really strong & downright dangerous on my local rural roads-sick of having to disable every time the car turns on-even a shortcut would be ok, but it’s awkward to do & really detracting from enjoyment of the car…come on MG, we need a software change!!!
Oh pulleeeeeezzeeee ? Irritating? Yes. Lots of effort? Don't be silly. If they can’t sort this out, I’m literally gonna have to return the car. Lane assist is so dangerous on country roads, and it’s so much effort to turn it off everytime
No honestly I will have to give it back, for delivery driving or private hire driving, it’s super dangerous. This morning I turned it off, helped someone put something in the boot, got back in and drove- it nearly dragged me into an oncoming lorry on a country road, I was driving over to the edge to avoid a lorry and the steering dragged me back, that’s terrifying. Then I had to try and turn it off whilst driving which is super dangerous as there was nowhere safe to stop and it was more dangerous to have it on. It feels like you’re skidding on ice but it’s actually tugging the wheel way too muchOh pulleeeeeezzeeee ? Irritating? Yes. Lots of effort? Don't be silly.
Press brake for READY state
Tap on car icon (and screen defaults to MG Pilot - at least it does for me)
Tap on LKA slider
Tap on Confirm
Total time ~3 secs
Fair pointIf I’m driving clients around all day and I get in and out of the car 10 times, that’s ten times I need to remember to turn it off - absolutely ridiculous
Would have been handy to have a few more toggles definitelyEverything going through that touch screen is not the most driver friendly, definitely a design flaw
If you genuinely believe the car is dangerous, please consider making a formal complaint to MG and if you don't get a response you're happy with, report to DVSA as a serious safety issue. I don't see another way to get MG to take it seriouslyNo honestly I will have to give it back, for delivery driving or private hire driving, it’s super dangerous. MG are selling 4's quicker than they can import them, I don't think they will be that bothered, it's a seller's market unfortunatelyIf you genuinely believe the car is dangerous, please consider making a formal complaint to MG and if you don't get a response you're happy with, report to DVSA as a serious safety issue.
