MG4 long range trophy speedometer

Hello all, could anyone tell me, what are the stars that appear sporadically next to my speedometer on my mg4 trophy long range please? Sometimes it is 2 and other times it is 3 stars! Many thanks in advance.

Most likely it's because the car has read the speed limit sign but wasn't able to decipher any other info that was shown on/near the sign. (I'm assuming you're talking about the speed limit indication, not the actual current driving speed indication - I've never seen anything like stars next to my current driving speed indication).

If you mean the dots under the Speed Limit Sign Recognition the manual simply says "The speed limit sign currently recognised has additional information. Please pay attention to it".

I suppose if you didn't notice the sign it detected that is no help at all.

Yes I’ve noticed this driving through school zones here in Perth WA, the signs have instructions on what times the speed limit is active, which of course the car cannot display. Interestingly the car doesn’t always display the dots, so seems to not always pick up on the extra information.

Like TerryN said, it’s a bit useless to tell the driver “there are conditions to this speed, hope you read them!”
