MG4 Semi-Solid-State Anxin Edition Revealed in China

Chinese regulatory filings have disclosed the MG4 Anxin Edition, a semi-solid-state battery variant of the compact electric hatchback.

The model swaps the lithium iron phosphate battery used in some MG4 trims for a manganese-based lithium-ion unit supplied by Suzhou QingTao Power Technology Co., Ltd. Technical specifications, including battery capacity and range, have not yet been released.

SAIC begins production of updated MG4 — launch in August
SAIC Motor has started mass production of the updated MG4 electric hatchback, with the first car rolling off the assembly line at its Nanjing plant. The official Chinese launch is scheduled for August, when we’ll get the full specifications and pricing. We don't have UK details, yet.

I'm not a super big fan of the new design but the combination of semi solid state battery and frontal traction, should make this car last a good 20-30 years.
