MG4 Software Update Thread

Hi all down under, in the UK I had the issue of the car slowing down in corners, after an update this annoying issue stopped, you do have to be a little bit more aware though as if you are in ACC and it is set at say 60 mph and the corner should be taken at 30 mph then you have to do stuff! The LKA here has been updated a few times, each time it got a little better, but even now I get annoyed with it and disable it every time I drive. I saying this after having the car from new in 2023, and there were issues with the charging at the beginning but now all is good.

I'm not sure ACC is suitable for use on such roads. Here it would mainly be our longer highways and city motorways. When you get this sort of sign...

They got back to me and asked if I can bring the car in again next week. They will evaluate it. Hopefully this will allow the Software Update.
As I mentioned MG changed its instruction to dealers between the time I booked in for the 40k service & the time it actually went in for the service so NO software updates were done. I complained that based on the agreement when I booked it in it should have been done & they eventually relented. It goes back for the software updates Wednesday next week 6 weeks after it should have been done.

I have prepared a list of things to be resolved. See below
List of Issues
  1. Infotainment System
HVAC Temperature control wrong (5-6 degrees too low)
ELK button on quick pulldown menu
Bluetooth connection not remaining in memory
    Satnav update for route planning
  2. MG PILOT Issues
Sudden unexplained braking (AEB) while driving with ACC. Update (AS-TEC-0722024-01)
Car slowing down on motorway curves when in ACC
Complete loss of all safety options incuding ACC, Front Collision, LKA, ELK & AEB systems when cruising with ACC on. Last occurred on 15/11/25 on Pacific Highway on 80 km section near Maclean ODO approx 31350km.
Aggressive and dangerous LKA steering wheel control sometimes pulling towards oncoming traffic. Update SC077, UK.

Also not done from last service when requested. High beam way to high. It is aimed up in to the trees. Good for road signs a long way down a straight road but there is a dark unlit gap between low & high beam.

There may be a few other things I have forgotten about or am not too concerned about. Overall though I love my car & its driveability. I love getting on a winding country road & going for it. It feels so planted on the road & that instant EV torque with RWD out of a corner is exhilarating.

I also asked for the High beam to be adjusted down as it is up in the trees at night with a dark gap between low and high beam. It seems that this has been a common issue from the factory. This wasn't done so I will ask for it again.
I have a darker spot between beam pattern, didn't realise it was an issue, but would be nice to correct.

Do they adjust the full beam down, as if they increase the low beam up then prepare for a lot of angry motorists as they seem to sit quite high as default :).

I don't have any such beam issues in mine. Maybe it's because the Trophy/Luxury/Whatever it's called in Aus uses different headlamps vs the SE/base spec model?

PS - the numbered roller control certainly works on the dipped beams on my car. 0 is the highest beam and lights up to just below the hatchback lip/just above the rear numberplate on the car in front (e.g. MG4 type car, when it is 2 seconds ahead). The higher numbers drop the beam progressively. :)

The SE has fixed units in that the low and high adjust as single entity. The Trophy lamps are individually adjustable low & high. The factory high beam adjustment seems to be way off on many cars.
