MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

Well after 2.5 years I had my first ever wave from another MG4 today and it was smurf blue as well! So if it was someone on here heading north into Great Smeaton from Northallerton at about 16.45 today 👋 and hopefully you saw me wave back 😎.

Several MG4s spotted in my road trip to Sussex and back, one actually waved.

What I really want to know though is who is the owner of the green X-Power parked right outside the church gate here at the time of the Sunday service today. Didn't seem to be anyone actually in church. Reg began SM74.

St Michael ? 😉🙂👍

Yesterday I spotted 5, yes 5 in an around Dumfries 😃. First one was a Holburn blue Trophy at the Shell garage A75 roundabout heading East, not local reg. A Camden Grey Trophy heading East on the A75 bypass near the Cuckoo Bridge roundabout, moments later a Camden Grey SE just leaving the Cuckoo Bridge Roundabout also heading East. Later in the day, a Volcanic Orange Trophy in Morrisons car park SG73 and from the same stable as mine. And when heading for the hills a white trophy heading West on the A75. I flashed and waved to them all, but got only one wave back from the guy in the white one...oh well they probably thought I was mad...and they would be right🤪

Driving back from the garden centre with a friend this afternoon I passed two white ones (a Trophy then an SE) and then a green X-Power, travelling in the opposite direction. I suspect the green X-Power was the same car as was parked on the village green on Sunday morning. I wasn't quick enough to wave to anyone.

I definitely see a lot more on the roads these days even compared to 6 months ago. Could that be just down to sales numbers or are people using them more now that the LKA and other software teething problems have been sorted?

I saw another two this morning in Dumfries, a Camden Grey Trophy just off the roundabout at the top of Brooms Road, she smiled and waved back😃 and a white Trophy, SG73 reg I think, as I was leaving the Morrisons roundabout, she smiled and gave me a big wave as well😁.
I was on my way to the car body paint shop of choice to get a scrape on the right rear corner repaired, no dents or anything...other than than my pride🤬. Caused by an ar*****e in an Audi on the extremely narrow road up Wasdale Valley in West Cumbria. I'm stationary right against the wall in a passing place and this pillock grazed the back corner. He had another foot clearance on his side and you could have got a bus through, a few choice words were exchanged about his driving skills and being able to steer with the big round thing in front of him, "knock for knock on these roads mate" he uttered. Of course there was no damage to his heap.🤬 I digress...I'm almost over it now😒 Damn tourists...pah!

Don't start me on the scrape I inflicted on Caliban half way down the Bealach na Bà while being bullied by a big yellow sports car which was almost certainly hired.

After picking the car up from the spray shop at midday today, I popped over to Morrisons for a cuppa...guess what I saw🤔🙂, yep a Camden Grey SE, DS74 reg in the car park. I'm sure I've seen it about before, she waved and smiled.

Now that brings back memories😃. The first time we went over to Applecross was back in the 1970's when we were in our 20 somethings. We were camping up the West coast with the father-in-law and young sister-in-law in 'Dad's' Ford Escort Mk1 1300. Back then it was only one road in and out, very exhilarating drive. They were building an enormous oil rig in the Kishorn dry dock, fantastic engineering achievement.
The next time, still in the '70's, I was driving in our Ford Cortina MkII 1600E Series 1. Quite a handful on the hairpin bends as there was no power steering then and it had big fat tyres on chrome Rostyle wheels. Coming down the hill felt like it was standing on its nose🫣

Have passed several people this week driving around Oxfordshire. Mostly black or white.

In Oxford I saw an orange which had a driving school hat on - I didn't wave as they were seemingly having a lesson.

I generally wave unless it happens too fast (e.g. coming around a corner in Long Wittenham). No waves returned though.

I went to The Village in Maidstone this afternoon (to get me some Ionity) and there was a Volcano MG4 parked in the hotel car park. There seem to be a fair few in Kent

Stopped in at the Miami bakehouse on our way back from the Ferguson Valley, Saw another MG pull in while drinking my dirty chai. Still there when we left.

After taking this pic the owner walked out. Lovely lady, thinks her MG is the best thing in the World, couldn't help but agree with her.

Seen this afternoon leaving Tesco Lockerbie, a Volcanic orange Trophy SB70 reg. I've just checked Wikipedia and the MG4 was launched in 2022🤔. It must be a personal plate, it did have GAS as the final letters. I was unsure what I'd seen so checked the dash cam to be certain.

Got a wave this evening!

Fellow grey was coming out of a side road and then followed me through Long Wittenham before turning off towards Little Wittenham. Oxford reg - '73 SE I think.
