MG4 Trophy map update – BEWARE

That could easily be the same version as the one from 2023. My map navigation version is 6.2.60.1.46507-P.

The update is the map data version, which is upgrade from 23Q4 to 24Q3

Just a quick note: There is now a new map version, 24Q3.

Unfortunately, it's not easy to find:
The MG website shows 23Q4 when you enter your VIN, but the download link in the PDF is for 24Q3.
I'll install it later .

So all went well and Maps are now 24Q3.. It took nearly half an hour and car requested to stay in ready.
If you have issues with a missing VN.txt file add this file manually to the USB Stick - This info is from the German MG4 Forum:
Simply add a VN.txt file with the content “pass” (without quotation marks) under the Version.txt file.

No, I just extracted the file to a 32GB USB drive and used it in the car as is on the update page.
It took about five minutes to get the data from the drive, then about 45 minutes to update the nav.

Just a thought, seeing as I didn't enter my VIN and such on the Website, does this mean I may be able to still get free updates after the free period has expired by using the same method, i.e. "borrowing" the extracted file from someone else ?

I got this Version from the MG Germany Website, but i think that this covers EU and UK still counts to EU. Even after your wish to leave

Just updated the maps in my MY22 Trophy. Straightforward although with my old computer took a long time to unzip the downloaded file.

EDIT: I wonder if the map data is updated every quarter but it appears that you don't know the version until you download and extract the data from that site which is referenced in the map update instructions pdf that I have for the MG4 Luxury.

Some of us check the site every other days and I can tell you : since 23Q4, no other update from MG website.
24Q3 is the first update since mi-2024, so since almost 18 month...

Don't know if it's the same for MY2024 (I did'nt see another map version for 2024 models) so make sure you got the right files from mgmotor website : User manuals

Because the PDF usually lead to "https://www.mgmotor.eu/downloads/maps.zip" and the target is upgrade with the latest map everytime.
Basically, if you check this link every other day, you'll always download the latest maps, until they change something in the update process

I have posted this before.. are you running R46? This could be the issue..

Note that for my MY22 Trophy SatNav version I have to remove the VN.txt file. (As recommended in a previous post see below.) The download from mgmotor.eu does not contain that file so it has to be added.

I have tried to download the file from the link above several times - each time it fails around around 7Gig.

Also tried the other method i have used in the past -https://iov-mapmg.soimt.com/#/downloadMap however this fails when you click on the link to download the maps with an XML error as the link is pointing to the wrong file

UPDATE 4th attempt - managed to download file.
