you are correct. Theres a bulletin from MG about it. The bulletin says only fix it if the customer tells you they want it fixed. It also gives full instructions to the garage what parts they need to order to fix the issue. Even with that, I had to speak directly to the technician and show them the bulletin before anything was agreed.Most people have had the strengthening bar fitted under warranty. I thought it was actually flagged up as a service recall for cars that hadn't had it done. My dealer, awful as they are, did mine.

... but on 99% of cars it wont cause an issue, so its not a problem. My car lives under a very pretty historic tree, which means that every bird in the country craps on my MG4 each day - so have gone through window wipers / door sills every 12 months, so do spend more on these consumable parts than charging the car, but it is what it is.
