undertray

An undertray, also known as a belly pan or skid plate, is a protective cover or panel that is attached underneath a vehicle. Its purpose is to improve the aerodynamics of the vehicle by reducing drag and turbulence caused by airflow underneath the car. The undertray also provides protection to the vehicle's undercarriage components, such as the engine, transmission, and exhaust system, from damage caused by road debris or rough terrain.

    Undertray broken off

Hi All, First message on this forum! I’ve had my MG4 long range for around 6 weeks and done just over 1k miles. Last night I noticed that something seemed to be dangling down from the underside of the car. I was shocked to find, when examining it closer today, that it appears that a large...

    Ripped undertray off

So I went a little too fast through a puddle (maybe 10-15mph). Unfortunately I heard a bang and my undertray is cracked / hanging off. What's anyone's experience from here? Can the tray just be taken off? How much is a replacement?

Hi everyone, Yesterday we went partially through some standing water at the side of the road. A puddle a couple of inches deep at most, not fast and not particularly splashy or anything! It's a puddle that we wouldn't have thought twice about before. I heard a cracking sound under the...

    Undertray bodgy fix

When collected had a slightly wavy undertray with one gap around 15mm and another 10 mm, I had a piece of builders galvanised angle 34*24*0.6mm which cost around 5 euros for 3m. ( French version B and Q ). I cut it to 1200mm and folded it into a u shape with gentle and gradual hammer strokes...
