MG5 - smashing!

You didn't mention age of your vehicle, but I'd be gobsmacked if that is not a write-off unfortunately. Not just from the repair value, but the 3rd party's insurers will need to provide you with an equivalent loan car for the repair period. And, if you look at threads like the one from @Brettus who had similar amount of front wing damage (on MG4), it took over 6 months to be repaired.
see - Well this sucks (XPower crash tested) ?
It was an ex demo June/July 2023 reg. I got it at 6 months old with just over 4k miles on the clock for a very good price, and at time of incident it had a little over 20k on the clock.

I could have had a loan car but I turned it down on the basis we have a functioning 2009 Disco 3 I drive when the need requires it. The reason I got the MG5 was because the Disco 3 needed a lot of work doing on it and was off the road for about 8 weeks. If the Disco 3 acts up I believe I can still take them up on the loan car offer. But I don't see the point of taking something if I don't actually need it, and it's my tiny personal contribution (maybe insignificant in the scheme of things) to keeping insurance costs down.

WOW. That's a lot of damage to yours and the Transit. For just 20 mph. Scary. 🤪
The front of the car was also damaged due to him being pushed into the Volvo in front.
It was my brothers car and after ringing his insurance company to question the price of his renewal this year, they have told him that the claim had not even been settled yet after almost 6 months !.
Apparently, it’s in the hand of the transit guy insurance company who are using their solicitor.
Maybe they are trying to contest the claim due to the cost involved.
They are looking at paying out on my brothers car and the Volvo that he hit as part of the rear end collision 💥 with his ZS EV.
All seems a bit futile really, when you consider both the ZS and the Volvo was stationary in a traffic grid lock, which is totally normal on that stretch of road.
The guy in the transit had only had the car a week, when he was taking it back to garage, because the brake warning light kept coming on ?.
Interesting to note that he had his mobile phone in a craddle stuck to the windscreen, was he messing about on his phone and did not see that the traffic had stopped ?.
The police attended the accident due to the traffic congestion and they did test his brakes and all appeared fine at the pedal.
Maybe this is the angle the legal team are looking at ?.
The driver was bagged, but was clear.
My brother was paid out in less than 2 weeks by HIS insurance company.
Of course he has had to declare the accident when he was looking to renew his car insurance, this is how he found out that the insurance claim is still outstanding.

The renewal price with the original insurance was, but this is standard practice tbh.
They offer a great introductory price the first year, then load it at renewal time I find.
He moved company and obviously declared the accident ( that’s how he found out the claim on his ZS EV was still ongoing ) it was much cheaper than staying put !.
