The trouble is we've only seen the cold weather figures so far. What will it be like in the summer, doing 70mph on a motorway? If it doesn't get to 250 miles even in that use case, that's when I'll be on to Trading Standards!

I meant to type 60mph not 70 but that neither here nor there, the point being that if it can’t reach it’s states number even in the absolute best case condition then there’s actually a reason to complain — right now based on cold weather numbers there’s no way anyone can know what the best case numbers could be…It seems to be all about trading standards or litigation these days.

These numbers for cold weather are weird. My own experience is that city driving in cold weather is much less than 205 miles — more like 140 miles. I think this is because it’s split up into 15-20 miles a day (and that in two trips) so the car has to warm up every time. Perhaps if I were to actually drive in a city non stop for 205 miles it may achieve that, but cities aren’t that high, in mega city one I’d be using a flying car
If I get the chance I will send you a photo of my dealers MG5 Trophy facelift demo vehicle which has "up to 250 miles" plastered all over it in big letters. Either they are telling porkies or they mean it! I am sure that we would never get anywhere talking to trading standards but it would give me great satisfaction to see it say "up to 200 miles!" instead. Something near the truth.
Does not surprise me at all you see with regard to trading standards the get out is ( Up To ) the SE model will do more than the trophy but as Smokie has said above someone somewhere might even get that or more I remember on have about 2years back the early 50kw mg 5 where said to do 214 miles but this chap was well over that in his car turns out he was in a hilly area and was freewheeling a lot of the time downhill crazy thing to do.
