Parasitic drain on 12V battery

If you did decide to go for replacement battery yourself, then maybe go for a battery that offers a five year warranty ?.
The Bosch / Exide units usually do.
This is better than the OEM battery that only comes with a 12 month warranty, which does not hold much faith in the factory batteries at all really 🤔.
Although we should even be considering this really on a new car after all !.
Surely, but depends when it was actually manufactured as opposed to registered may have been sitting idle for weeks in China or in your country waiting for orders. That would cause havoc with the 22v battery and may be the root causr

For anybody who maybe vaguely interested in knowing just how easy and quick it is to locate a parasitic 12 volt battery drain, here is a recent video of somebody who clearly knows what he is doing !.
This should take no longer than a couple days ( not weeks ) to diagnose.
Maybe recommend that the dealer watches this and applies it to your car !.

I don't think MG have a clue what's going on, Stoneacre are now entering the 6th week of trying to fix my car now, and still not fathomed out what's wrong with it. In total my cars been in an MG garage for 7 weeks and the car is only 11 weeks old 🤬
I can't believe I'm defending a car dealer but it's not all Stoneacre's fault. They have to do a diagnostic and send it to MG who will then approve the next step. Then after that course of action it's another diagnostic report to MG and so on. MG can take up to 48 hours to reply and then the garage has to find the time to fit it into their schedule.

I suggest you email MG customer services including your registration number asking if they can find out why its taking so long and politely expressing your disappointment in the amount of time it takes for MG to approve each step of the repair.

I had an ongoing saga with my MG4 and after emailing MG accusing them of micro-managing they approved the replacement of the part within a couple of hours. The full details can be found on the MG4 forum.
