Post a Pic

Beautiful spring day here, so took a drive along the beach to give Dot's cold some fresh sea air.
Stopped at Halls Head one of my 1960s Winter surf breaks, it needs a much bigger swell than we had today.

It certainly is. What is it? 🤔
I actually don’t really know. It’s like an art installation with three platforms you can go to. The whole thing is very high (it’s located on a hill), so you first need to climb about 400 steps to get on top of the hill (not kidding) and then another couple of stairs to get to the view points. Once at the top, you’re above the city of Bottrop and have a beautiful view of the industrial complex and the surrounding area.

Kelpie construction underway in September 2013

There’s been some interesting stories about visits to the Kelpies lately.
Here’s a picture taken during the construction phase.
Picture taken from the M9 motorway heading east (by my wife in the passenger seat).

I wonder if the construction caused any accidents with people rubbernecking while driving on the M9.
I can imagine there were a few close calls at least. Even now and knowing they’re there. If conditions are right and especially at night when the internal lighting changes colour. They can look wonderfully spooky appearing out of the mist. When they slowly sink down and travel underwater to suddenly rear up to snatch the unwary from their cars. It’s best not to dawdle on the M9 and slip past quietly if you can.
Ev’s generally therefore experience much safer journeys.
