Hi, I am finding that, when on auto, the windscreen wipers work intermittently even when it isn't raining, so I have to turn them off. When on auto I also have to adjust the speed according to the amount it is raining. Is this normal? Thanks.

Yes. They're intermittent, not rain sensing.

Do you guys get auto wipers? Downunder it's not even an option. Personally I don't mind too much, as the auto wipers in my previous car often annoyed me anyway (over zealous or not fast enough) but I was surprised a new car in 2024 would come without this feature.

Nope - just good old-fashioned intermittent wipers. :) (On the MG4 at least ... my previous Vauxhall Insignia and the VW Golf GT before it both had rain-sensing wipers).

The MG4 has speed dependant wipers instead of a rain sensing. I've noticed on mine if the wipers are on slow (not intermittent) when you stop so do the wipers which can be a bit annoying at junctions.

Same here. The Ford ones with a sensitivity were reasonable, but the Citroën ones wiped far too often. Give me manual intermittent any day.

Never liked auto wipers. Worked when they shouldn't. Didn't work when they should. My X Powers' are great, good old fashioned 2 speed with intermittent. Perfect. Besides, think I'm quite capable, of knowing when to put my own wipers on. 🙂👍

No, we don't, at least not in the UK

I forget to switch the wipers off when I park and if it’s raining when I get back in I always end up with a wet knee from the first swipe. 😂

My ZS had auto wipers.
In the UK. My ZS also has auto wipers. Sensitivity can be adjusted by a stupid system involving rotating the nob of the rear wiper control, as far as I can tell.
A worse problem is the driver’s side wiper bouncing, creating streaks that make the windscreen almost opaque.

I have a ZS EV and have auto windscreen wipers, I'm in UK too. I've never had any trouble with them wiping the screen when it's not raining but very occasionally they do go a bit erratic when it is raining! Normally they sense the rain quite well and work ok but every now and again they just stop working even though it's raining enough for them to be working and they on and wiping the screen?! Weird! I have to switch them off then back on to sort of 'reset' them.
